LOL

Either that or water in its veins, and it's no longer a "real" Porsche...;)

How is a 911 engine derived from a VW engine?

Well first one assumes a VW engine (which occur at high frequency). To locate the rarer 911, one takes spatial inverse fourier-transform of the VW, to get an XY engine. The XY is integrated twice with respect to the Y-chromosome (once with Ferdinand, once with his father), leaving XY^3 on top and a nice flat-six on the bottom. The 911 engine pops out on top by letting X=Y=the stroke of the original 901/01.

It was never a 911, it was a 912E. So didn't have the flat 6 Porsche engine but a VW 4 banger.

Oh my ...some of you guys are gonna hate my next Porsche project.

Envision an early (pre-1974) body. Hand-made tube chassis, custom suspension, Aluminum headed, dry sump smallblock Chevrolet powered, M22 4-speed, narrowed 9" rear end.

Now imagine the engine in the ... FRONT (ala Funny Car).

Just because I can!

I thought so at first, but he mentions that he read about a similar 912 conversion and then did his own. I'm pretty sure it's a 911.

Was the 912E ever offered as a targa?

Looks like I jumped the gun thinking it was a 912E. According to the 912registry.org there were supposed to be 2 '76 912E Targa's. So, I'm guessing that this wasn't one of them... :)

when done to a fiero [big block +425 auto swap] they donot handle worth a chit
I like my northstar fiero a lot better
as the DOHC NORTHSTAR [alloy] IS ABOUT = TO THE STOCK IRON V6 in weight
and placement of the weight in the chassie too
but 300hp is better then stock 140
and a custom flywheel allows a 5 speed stick

How about this? It's real. I've seen it run. Has an SB2 small block Chevy with that giant Whipplecharger on a tall manifold. Injector hat is higher than the roof.
