Techies? Any idea about this?

Yesterday I got an email from Pelican:

"Your account on ...BBS has been blocked . Someone has tried to log into the account with the wrong password 5 times."

"The person trying to log into your account had the following address:
70.59.130.209"

I rally don't have a clue what this means...dirty tricks being attempted? Or could it be something worse?

Opinions welcome...

Probably nothing... are you blocked from Pelican? It wouldn't seem so.

Not blocked now...it was only a delay. I'm just wondering why anybody would try? Nasty tricks from those loyal to a club I used to belong to, I could understand...somebody using my posting name could create some personal misery here....but my main concern is financial damage? PP has my credit card number, since I've made purchases...

(EDIT) Denver, huh??? Thanks for the info. "the" claims to be from Colorado...and I honestly don't have a clue why he seems to have animosity towards me.

I hope, at worst, someone tried to log on to the forum as you. Not sure how they would gain access to any private info on your account.

While the board has a lot of nice people, there are some out there saying the wrong words or going against their point of view, brings the the worst in them.

Somebody attacked me behind a hidden name on here and I thought it was funny, why not have the balls to say you don't like me. It's not like we would ever meet...

A very amateurish attempt to log on as you.

No worries. If they knew what they were doing, you would never know it until you had a real problem.

Thanks guys. I'd like to think most who post here would figure it out if posts started being made in my name that weren't actually me....

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the nether regions of he (or she)
who tries to harm any poster here!
