BBC reports that Karl Rove will resign

Karl Rove has worked with Mr Bush since 1993 Top White House aide Karl Rove has said he will resign at the end of August. "I just think it's time," Mr Rove said in an interview for the Wall Street Journal, adding that he was quitting for the sake of his family. Mr Rove is a senior political adviser to President George W Bush and has worked with him for more than a decade. As Mr Bush's chief strategist, he is seen as instrumental in delivering two presidential and several congressional election victories for the Republicans. The two men began working together when Mr Bush first announced his intention to run for office as governor of Texas in 1993. But Mr Rove has always been a controversial figure and has faced accusations of underhand tactics against Democrat opponents since his teenage years. Last month, the US Senate issued a subpoena against him as part of an investigation into the sacking of eight federal prosecutors, but Mr Bush ordered him not to testify, citing executive privilege. Mr Rove was also investigated in connection with the exposure of CIA agent Valerie Plame, though prosecutors decided he should not face any charges. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6943814.stm

I can't believe we haven't seen Schumer and Waxman on tv yet, screaming for more subpoenas and claiming Rove is no longer covered by exec. privilege.

Yeah, what a bummer for Rove. His $150k gov't. salary is about to become his weekly paycheck once he goes private sector. I would so hate to be in his shoes.

Rove just became a Saudi citizen living in the US so he's now protected by international laws(joke).
I haven't been keeping up but didn't Mr. Lurch just leave? The crying Klingon and the robot are next....
