No. Sorry to disappoint, but it was the very plebian 4-door sedan. No "S" class. No coupe. No convertible. No fuel injection. 120 bhp to motivate about 3500 lbs of fairly solid car. My parents purchased the car new 15 years before I got it; I drove it my senior year in high school. I wish it was a 280SL. That was an affordable classic 15 years ago, and still today.

That's an interesting list. It nicely tracks the beginning of your affliction and also shows how you gradually came to your senses.

Funny thing. I consider myself a car guy too. The only car I didn't buy was the Celica my wife owned when we got married. There's almost 70 years of combined driving on that short list. We got our monies worth out of each one.

I thought it would be fun to start this post, but it is really interesting to see how each of our purchasing habits (types of cars) seem to be somewhat similar.....

911 in SC 08-12-2007 04:43 PM

My goodness, some of you guys change cars more than you change underwear...;)

Comparatively, mine is a short list, and I've been driving 23 years now. These do not include my wife's cars.

ha! Well, as the Chinese say, "may you live in interesting times." And evidently I do.

Haven't taken vacation yet. Racing at Laguna Seca Aug 24-26 (bay area pelicans should come down and hang). "Vacation" is the following week. I'm trying to keep costs down and am torn between just doing absolutely nothing for a week, or trying to write. I have a book project that needs a serious kick in the arse. I also have two series treatments that I have to finish (well, start one, finish the other). Oh, and redesign my website for the possibility of new side/consulting projects (hoping the Koreans will give us a couple hundred $K). Major push on one work project and in production then post on another. Sept/Oct will be ugly busy. Then I need to take a *real* vacation, unless the side projects come through in which case I'll be in ramp-up mode until the end of the year.

Oh well, time to rest when I die...

Wait, I thought I was taking a vacation. Crap.
