2002 Ford Escape trouble codes
I am working on a friend's 2002 Escape. It had a bad battery which was changed. Ever since, the ABS light is on as well as the Airbag light. Also had code for bad EGR Valve.
How can I reset the ABS and SRS codes without fancy equipment. My OBD2 reader only reads CEL.

I think that with OBD2 and beyond it is refered to as a MIL(malfunction indicator light) because of the powertrain/trans imputs.
If the car is driven enough in all conditions(completing drive cycles), all the self-testing by the computer should make the light go out by itself. An annoying OBD2 quirk. Dealership or Ford forums may also have some answers if it's not that.

Bump for any Ford mechanics on board.

Under the seat, unplug and clean the computer connections, this is a very common problem on these, use a spray on cleaner. And good luck, get away, get far away after that, cause those things will darken your driveway forever.
