Adversity improves the breed: TSI
On the Prius thread, there was a response from a UK Pelican which got me looking at the VW UK website. http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/new_cars/technology_glossary/TSI
One of the engine designations was TSI, which drew a complete blank for me. How's this for tech? A turbo and a supercharger on a direct injection gasoline engine, giving 168 hp with 1.4 litres and 177 lbs. ft. of torque from 1750 RPM! Why there and not here? They pay twice as much as we do for gasoline (in Canada) so imagine what you would be doing for power in a world of $8 - 9 /gallon gas. Les
