Zeitgeist (the movie) 9-11
Here is the link to the documentary "Zeitgeist". There are three parts, the first is about Religion, the second is about September 11th, the third I have yet to see.
I watched the first two parts last night and couldn't sleep after seeing the sept 11th segment. I've seen conspiracy films about the terrorist attacks but I;ve never seen one with so much work put into it. This movie will hopefully open your mind for some refreshing truth. www.zeitgeistmovie.com

c'mon guys please watch the film. I just finished the third part and, honestly this is an eye opening film that will scare the crap out of you. I've been going thru the sources and it is simply amazing.
I'm angry at the fact that I can't express my feelings properly towards this film. I knew it all along. BTW, if you have an uneasy stomach, this is not the film for you

I watched it and the part that interested me the most was the first part about religion. Other than that, I pretty much knew about the rest of it. Not that I think it's the truth, but it's something to consider when making your own mind up about what's going on in the world.
It's worth a watch.

I agree, but are you "ok" with the fact that the Sept 11th part is true. If I was positive this were true, I would move...no doubt about it.

So, Bush did it huh?
I haven't finished watching all of it yet, but I'll comment on the physics of the collapse of the towers. (I'm a licensed civil engineer.) The collapse is consistent with the towers being struck by the airplanes. The heat of the jet fuel and the materials in the buildings would have easily melted the floors to make them bend and collapse. I've melted aluminium in a puny camp fire. The movie's strangest claims are that the Pentagon and Shanksville incidents did not involve airplanes. I guess the two missing planes and passengers are being kept in Area 54. The movie's biggest physics error is the assertion that the vertical steel columns in the WTC had to have been cut previous to the towers collapsing. First of all, how do you cut dozens of these without being noticed? More importantly, the failure pattern in the columns, namely shear planes at about 45 degrees, are what you would expect in a rapid compression failure.

One thing for sure, the School of Conspiracies and Paranoia obviously only has 1 film production professor. Because while the conspiracies may differ, the films always look and sound exactly the same and use the same tricks.

I'm not even going to bother watching if some stupid dumba$$ f__k claims it was done by the US Government. That is still to this day one of the most moronic statements any US or non-US citizen can make. Christian or Muslim.

Do you guys realize how many people would have to involved in this little lie if George W. ordered this? Hundreds of people would be keeping their mouths shut and not selling the story or going on Larry King Live to become rich and famous. I doubt that would be the case. The last Pres. couldn't keep the fact that he was doing an intern on the side, but this Pres. can keep 9-11 and the WTC a secret? GMAFB!
As stated above, do you realize how much work would be required to cut the columns of the WTC building? I'm a contractor and you can't just stick a sawzall under your coat and cut into a column that has a 1" thick flange on it. These columns are surrounded by walls and people sit at their desks everyday next to these walls. Don't you think someone in the WTC would ask a few questions? "Sorry sir, but you're going to have to move out of your office for a few days. We need to cut the columns before the plane hits the building on 9-11. But please don't tell anyone OK. The President wants to keep this a secret so he can go into Iraq and start a war that his Dad didn't finish" "Oh, Ok. I won't tell anyone." I can't believe that educated people really believe this crap. |

I don't believe most if not all of the conspiracy theory stuff (Bush's focus on Star Wars combined with general Admin ineptitude is enough for me), but I've always wondered why the 3rd building came down. Anyone know?

WTC 7 Collapse CLAIM: Seven hours after the two towers fell, the 47-story WTC 7 collapsed. According to 911review.org: "The video clearly shows that it was not a collapse subsequent to a fire, but rather a controlled demolition: amongst the Internet investigators, the jury is in on this one." FACT: Many conspiracy theorists point to FEMA's preliminary report, which said there was relatively light damage to WTC 7 prior to its collapse. With the benefit of more time and resources, NIST researchers now support the working hypothesis that WTC 7 was far more compromised by falling debris than the FEMA report indicated. "The most important thing we found was that there was, in fact, physical damage to the south face of building 7," NIST's Sunder tells PM. "On about a third of the face to the center and to the bottom--approximately 10 stories--about 25 percent of the depth of the building was scooped out." NIST also discovered previously undocumented damage to WTC 7's upper stories and its southwest corner. NIST investigators believe a combination of intense fire and severe structural damage contributed to the collapse, though assigning the exact proportion requires more research. But NIST's analysis suggests the fall of WTC 7 was an example of "progressive collapse," a process in which the failure of parts of a structure ultimately creates strains that cause the entire building to come down. Videos of the fall of WTC 7 show cracks, or "kinks," in the building's facade just before the two penthouses disappeared into the structure, one after the other. The entire building fell in on itself, with the slumping east side of the structure pulling down the west side in a diagonal collapse. According to NIST, there was one primary reason for the building's failure: In an unusual design, the columns near the visible kinks were carrying exceptionally large loads, roughly 2000 sq. ft. of floor area for each floor. "What our preliminary analysis has shown is that if you take out just one column on one of the lower floors," Sunder notes, "it could cause a vertical progression of collapse so that the entire section comes down." There are two other possible contributing factors still under investigation: First, trusses on the fifth and seventh floors were designed to transfer loads from one set of columns to another. With columns on the south face apparently damaged, high stresses would likely have been communicated to columns on the building's other faces, thereby exceeding their load-bearing capacities. Second, a fifth-floor fire burned for up to 7 hours. "There was no firefighting in WTC 7," Sunder says. Investigators believe the fire was fed by tanks of diesel fuel that many tenants used to run emergency generators. Most tanks throughout the building were fairly small, but a generator on the fifth floor was connected to a large tank in the basement via a pressurized line. Says Sunder: "Our current working hypothesis is that this pressurized line was supplying fuel [to the fire] for a long period of time." WTC 7 might have withstood the physical damage it received, or the fire that burned for hours, but those combined factors--along with the building's unusual construction--were enough to set off the chain-reaction collapse. |

I am even more important and busier than Shaun and don't have the time to even read all of paul's post above. Can someone summarize it for me? Thanks.
