Any Professional Product Photographers here?

Just looked at some of the websites selling our line and the pics are terrible! But I know ours would be just as bad.

Question: anyone here a product photographer? rates for this sort of thing?

or, any advice on taking a great shot of a t-shirt?

I shoot a lot of product in my job. Rates will very but you need to find out your end point first. ie what resolution it will be displayed at. Most stuff on the internet looks like crap because every moniter is set different so people scan it in set up at the most middle of the row settings hoping it looks decent on 50% of the moniters.
Have a look at my site and E-mail if you want more detailed info.

My wife used to set up all the shoots for Yamaha musical products. Everything from selecting models to the actual shot.

She used to pay one of the higher end guys around here $170+ and hour during the shoot. She bought in 1/2 to full days so an hour or two by itself would likely be higher.

For a couple "big" four/five day shoots she brought in a big shot and it was disgusting money.

FWIW she worked with children models a lot as a big target audience is young musicians/school bands.

Thanks Guys.

Randy Wells is an artist. I'm not sure he'd want to do shirts. I know we can't afford him.

Steve, sent you an email.

Thanks for the info Joel. Sounds like we should consider building/buying our own lightbox.

I've done photography for over 35 years as a sideline. Took the majority of product photos for the Automotion catalog from '77 through '99. You can see my recent work in the product photos on the Wheel Enhancement web site. It's kind of a sideline, but I generally produce *serviceable* images.

I can do this as well if you want to send me the product. I'll do product shots, but don't have experience with models. Let me know. The past few days have been crazy, but a normal schedule of being able to get stuff done at night can resume today. You know I won;t rake you over the coals on pricing, as I want to see this succeed.

PM imagelennon (Jerry), I know he is a pro photographer, and I'm pretty sure he used to do catalog work.
