Do the right thing.

So, i made a boo boo this morning. While filling up my 911 at WAWA, i pulled the nozzle out too far, next thing i know, i have gas pouring on my shoes. Stop the pump, immediately go inside and report the spill. "No Problem" says the employee, " Happens at least once a week, How much gas?"

"Half, Gallon, maybe" I say.

He takes a look at the spill and says " Is that all, thats nothing...but Thanks for reporting it."

I move the car, and go inside for a sandwich.
*edit*
While waiting in line, I watch a M.B. owner start to pull away from pump 6 with Hose still inserted in his gas tank, SNAP! Breaks the HOSE! I point to the cashier and she exclaims "insert expletive"! She calls for a manger.

the M.B. Owner removes the nozzle from his car, returns it to the pump and gets back into his car to leave.

"OMG, he is just going to pull away, He's not even going to come in!" she says.

Sure enough, the Hose Bandit drives away quite quickly.

Teach your kids, and practice your self this lesson. Always, Do the right thing.

I recently saw a pickup truck, driving in town, the fuel nozzle still inserted in the tank, five feet of hose dragging along the road at 25MPH ...the 'safety/quick disconnect' bouncing along the asphalt. The male driver...oblivious.

So what happened here? I read that three times and still don't get it.

Did the MB person drive off with the hose sticking out of the fill neck on the car? Those hoses typically have breakaways on them for exactly that reason - I've seen vehicles on a couple of occasions driving down the freeway with filler door open and a gas station hose (or more correctly, the last 3-4 feet of one) still stuck in the fill neck and the hose flopping around.

The driver of the MB broke the hose, stopped the car, removed broken hose from the car and put it back on the pump, reinstalled the gas cap and drove off faster than it took for me to write this.

Ahh. Funny. That's a good visual. I can see it. The old "tail tucked firmly up one's ass crack" from embarrassment.

Sorry didn't mean to bust on you earlier, I just couldn't piece together the outcome the way it was worded before. Could be me - I was up most of the night again. . . Need coffee.

P-O-P,

I think part of the problem is that the M-B putz broke something, and then took off before he could get in trouble for it.
