I've got an 11-87 set up for turkey (3") and love it. It just requires heavy loads to cycle. Not a BFD AFAIC. My gunsmith friend (and the gunsmith at the local Gander) both blame the "jam" reputation to people not running proper loads for the springs -- especially for the first 100 rounds or so.
I've fired Benellis and Berettas and I think they're great weapons.... but more than I need to spend for what I need the gun to do. For example, I have a USP .45 that is great... I don't need the Mk 23 Mod 0, as I'm not in the Special Forces and don't have a Knight Arms silencer to screw to it. Is the Mk 23 cooler, sexier and all-around most excellent? Yes. But for the price delta, I got myself a S&W Performance Center .357. Screw it, get a SPAS. JP |
