Movie converting software

My camera saves all my movies in .mov format and I would like to find some cheap or free software that will convert these to .wmv, mpeg etc. And whats the best format to post on youtube?

Try Videora or Media Coder for conversion software.

Youtube is .flv - flash video. I have never uploaded anything, but I would assume youtube accepts many formats and converts them for you.

have never used it under XP, under OS X it screams. easliy 3-4 x's faster than commercial stuff like Squeeze and Compressor.

Wife uses Super. It's freeware and will convert almost any format into another. She uses it to recode PAL to NTSC and vice versa and to convert videos into mp3s and convert things to 3GP to put on her phone.
