Real Football Starts On Thursday
Saints / Colts kick it off at 7:30. Allah be praised.
What's the word guys? Colts losses include: starting corners Nick Harper and Jason David (to Saints), former starting safety Mike Doss, starting weakside linebacker and 2006 leading tackler Cato June and in-the-rotation defensive lineman Montae Reagor along with stud DT Bogger Mc Farland on defense. On offense, Tarik Glenn, Dominique Rhodes & Brandon Stokely. The Saints upgraded the entire defensive back field, the center of the defensive line and should see improvement at linebacker. With 2 pro bowl DE's They look up to the task. Brees, Duece & Reggie are all much better than this time last year. Marquis Colston has put on about 15 lbs and retained the speed, plus a year of experience. Other improvements are at WR & TE. Combine this with the most creative play caller in the NFL & the Saints look like a winner to me. What do ya'll think?

A tough pick. Remember that home opener last year? Saints would have beaten anyone that night! THAT was a great time!

That was the best. I think the Colts have some issues this year. I think if you give Sean Payton 4 weeks to prepare for a game, more often than not, he wins. If the Saints stop Addai, I think they win. I think the Bogger-less & Reagor-less Colts will have their hands full with Deuce & Reggie.

I'm thinking the Colts will take it. The Saints are still in wonder at how they over-achieved last year and the Colts are condfident that they got waht they deserved and will continue to win games because they deserve to. The Colts have the best coaching in the league and Peyton. They'll build their game around him and the lost personnell will be missed less than it looks like they should on paper.

Best coach in the league? How many years did it take him to get it done WITH Payton? As William Munny said to Little Bill in Unforgiven just before he shot him, "deserve's got nothing to do with it." Unless Peyton's gonna play on defense too, they have some problems.

I love sports. I hate professional athletes, teams and owners, and how they have destroyed sports.
Then again, I'd rather play than watch. And I'd rather create than consume. But ymmv. |
