Math - how much do 1 1/2 bricks weigh?

If a brick weighs 1 lb. + 1/2 brick, how much does 1 1/2 bricks weigh?

lendaddy 09-11-2007 10:04 AM

3 lbs

Nope. So far, no cigar.
Oops. Yup.

x = 1 + (1/2)x

We first have to know if the two bricks are identical.

lendaddy 09-11-2007 10:22 AM

So how is it not three? The formula proves the brick at 2lbs, yes?

the 09-11-2007 10:23 AM

Yes.

Don't mess with the Daddy. He knows his 5th grade math!

the 09-11-2007 10:25 AM

Mess with Terry, instead.

Except Terry knows how to use the Delete feature! So now my post makes no sense.

cashflyer 09-11-2007 10:34 AM

Never posted. ;)

I solved for 2 different weight bricks. 2 variables. I tend to over think things.

wilke3169 09-11-2007 10:53 AM

And the answer is?

Porsche-O-Phile 09-11-2007 11:01 AM

With or without a standard 3/8" mortar joint? Type N or Type S mortar? ;)

sammyg2 09-11-2007 11:16 AM
