as an adult, do you have any days where you dont spend any money?

i am a debit card guy, & i see my statement. i spend something everyday.

if i pack a lunch, make a thermos full of coffee, have some groceries in the fridge, full tank of fuel, i would still spend something. (i think)

Stay at home? Are you crazy!?! Then you could be ordering parts from our host all day long!

vash - I sympathize, I have the same thoughts. Especially since I got married to a girl whose parents gave her everything, now she expects that from me!

Stay home, in bed, without turning on the lights or using the plumbing. Then you'll succeed.

Oh, and to be on the safe side, try not to breathe.

I cannot find a good, fast, healthy, source for food during the day so I bring my own.

I cook breakfast in the morning and pack 3 small meals to eat through the day. That takes care of my need for food.

I only drink water and that is provided for free at work. So that is covered.

So, yes, I pretty much go the week with out spending money. I normally carry about $20 on me just in case and rarely break it.

Once I get home from work 3-4 days a week we eat at home and go out one night. So I spend on that night.

My commute to work is 4 miles each way a tank of gas lasts me 2 weeks.

Then again Mazda Motorsports has put a huge dent on my CC statement this month buying parts for the car. I might be eating ramen noodles soon.

Rarely - When on the road, the company picks up all my expenses, when at home the only time I spend is to put gas in the car. Lunch is with clients or it is leftovers.

Weekends get pricey though - unless da Wife cracks her purse...

Nope, that doesn't work either. My bills for apartment and car insurance, my cellphones, my cable tv and my internet are all debited from my account, so I suspect that even if I were to follow your instructions, I would look the next day, and another whack of cash would be gone...

And also, don`t stay home, because if you have a home, chances are you are either paying rent or mortgage and local taxes, all of which are daily expenses. You realize that when you close on a new home and the bank charges interest by the day!

Impossible. If you're paying monthly for rent, it's costing you every day. If you're carrying a mortgage, it's costing you $X per day. If you have a monthly car payment, it's $Y per day.

Based on that, simply existing on a given day, regardless of what you do, costs money.

There are plenty of days where I pay $0 out-of-pocket for direct purchases though. I'd say maybe 2 out of 7.

I'm home sick today. No out of pocket expenses. During a regular workday/weekend, I'll spend atleast $3 for a cup or two of coffee.

What I have been successful at doing is conditioning myself to not spend any money BEFORE I get to work to make it.

I go to work and let the company spend all their money on me. Like the Lubemeister, its all on the company tab while I am away from home and life is good!

No, the mortgage never sleeps, but the cars are paid off, and the office is close enough that I only have to buy gasoline like twice a month
