Virginia Porsche Lovers???

I am looking for long time VA Porsche guys/gals out there. Why? I am trying to see if I can find a needle in the haystack. I am trying to find the orginal purchaser of my 1983 Ruby Red Cabriolet. Here are some details about the car:

1983 911SC Cabriolet
VIN: WP0EA0910DS171372
Ruby Red Metallic in color with Grey-Beige interior

It was originally purchased on 10/21/83 at HBL, Inc (Porsche Audi dealer) in Vienna, VA. Stayed there until 1985.

In Jan 86, it had service from Porsche Dealer #1415 (Hilltop Porsche Audi I think - might be Checkered Flag now?)in Va. Beach, VA. Looks like it stayed there through July 91 (from service records).

In May 93, it had some service done at Eurotech in Savannah, GA.

Due to legalities, there is really no way for me to find the original owner unless I get lucky and find something hidden in the car with there name on it, or get luckier and find someone who might actually know them. I do not think there were that many Ruby Red cabriolets sold, so I am hoping someone who has been around the VA Porsche scene for awhile might be able to help.

Thanks all!

Sounds like Bill Miller's old car, but I think he wrecked it a year or so ago after an extensive rebuild and track-prep. He's on Dorkiphus.

It's not Bill Miller's car. I know the last two owners prior to me. I have had it since last October. Was his car also a Ruby Red cariolet. If a 1983 as well, that will make 3 that I have found now...

Noah,
I for one would love to talk to the original owner of my car and ask about some things I have found over the years of my ownership. I removed a ton of early 90's audio crap that was hidden through out the interior, would love to know what possessed someone to put speakers in the foot well blowers? Thankfully, I have corrected all of the original owner's mistakes but I still have some questions.

I just thought it would be cool to know the full history of the car. I was going ot putin in a file. Just goofy that way about some things.

I have not yet found the Tom Shanklin I am looking for yet, but get this: there are like 20 Tom Shanklins I could find in the US through searches. I called everyone of them. Here is the weird thing, 2 of those guys, while unfortunately not my guy, were Porsche owners. Both had had 911's. One of them now had a 996 I think. Kind of weird. I was thinking, wouldn't that be an interesting yet worthless stat? How many guys with the same name own Porsches. Which name would have the most hits?

So.....you want to meet the guy then bash him for something you don't agree with? If you don't like it, fix it, move on with life. Really.

I owned a 60 year old house with all kinds of maintenance issues. Never once thought of tracking down the former owners to critique their work.
