anyone know if "DarrylD" is doing OK these days?

I miss the guy, but I know he went thru a bad spell having lost his wife.

He doesn't do email thru here or his very nice website (which you should look at sometime).

http://members.aol.com/darryld/garage/index.htm

I just wanted to say hi and I'm hoping he's doing well, all things considered.

Milt, This was asked a few weeks ago and Darryl answered on his condolences thread. He seems to be doing well and in good spirits.....
My Deepest Condolences, DarrylD

Darryl:

"Thanks for the concern guys. I'm doing just fine and actually find the loss easier to bear than helplessly watching my wife suffer as long as she did. I did just buy a 356C last week, felt funny not to have to ask permission! My 912 is all ready for paint, now just waiting for dry weather to tow it to the painter."

The guy was a marvel with animated gifs. I love his classic 911/2 dashboard.

Darryl was always one of my favorite members. Yes, his animations are fantastic. I have one of his moving boxer engine animations to thank for understanding at least the basics.

Very nice man indeed.

Very nice tribute. We have had several Pelicans who have lost partners recently and wonder what we can do to assist?

Edit, just looked at Daryl's AOL webpage and it gives his AOL id, which is: darryld. Am not an AOL (AOHell) user but would wonder if you tried an email like this: darryld AT aol.com if it would get through to him?

He's one of the best. It's only been 6 months. Hopefully he's getting along ok, and he'll be back here soon.

Good guesses on his Email. He posted on one of his decal reproduction threads: darryld AT aol.com

Rick,

you might want to change the email address to take out the @ sign. Otherwise robots that harvest people's email address off of the web might pick it up. Just trying to keep the spammers down where they belong.

Darryl appears to have taken the summer off from auto restoration and is now back online. He has taken a part time job at a local porsche shop to fill some of his lonely hours. Otherwise he seems to be doing well.

Tom, thanks for the message on the side. I'm happy to hear that he has the energy to work on other people's cars! That's more than I can say for myself.
