Meeting fellow Pelicans

Had the pleasure of meeting and hanging with Joeaksa last night. Its pretty cool to finally meet someone you have been chatting online with a few yrs.
We had dinner, talked about cars, work, hobbies, politics and life in general.
Had a great time. Wish we had more time to hang out.
Everyone I met on here has been very cool. Looking foward to meeting more great fellow Pelicans!

Ryan,

Speeder is a lot nicer in person than he is on the board. We were actually friendly together, he stayed overnight at the house and we all had a good time. Of course that changed after he left, then he became a bleeding heart liberal again and I reverted to the staunch conservative!

Have to say that almost every person I have met from the board has been excellent and its been a good experience with everyone. One of the reasons to have "Pelican get togethers" at various places around the country!

Vinny and I were hoping that Shaun and John could have made it but thats life! I need to get back sometime when Vinny can give me a tour of his nice boats and I can return the favor with one of our airplane...

Joe

Back in my Northeast days, I met a bunch of Pelicans at a 944 timing belt party.

What a bunch of lame guys! All they did was talk about proper timing belt tension, torque values, and check out each other's cars. We must have spent the whole day just messing around with our cars. Who wants to just hang out and work on cars? Definitely not a cool crew.

I haven't met a bad guy yet!

I have had a few near misses on meeting up with Joeaksa, but since I'm moving to AZ soon, that won't be a problem much longer. I met some of the other Phoenix Pelicans on my last trip there and met Nostatic when he was here. We have such a huge crew in the DC area. I hope to meet some of the SoCal guys in October when I'm in LA.

I enjoyed the time Ron & John spent here....I don't know if Cindy would agree, though...(Just kidding). Yeah, it was fun. Glad I had the tools to help 'em both.

Tabdula used to be a legend. Now we have heard that he is a whisper of his former self and I wonder if any of us would know him!

He has lost so much weight that the buffets no longer shudder at his approach, in fact I have heard rumour that he no longer even goes to the buffets, so the world is changing day by day.

Tabs in his former life, at the buffet in Lost Wages.

Also from left to right: Randy, Red Beard and Slakjaw. Someone is under the napkin but if we told you who, we would have to kill you...

That's right! I forgot about Road America altogether! Now I feel like an idiot!

That was a blast. BS'n over some Coronas at the Brat Stand at Road America. That was a good time.

I've met oldE, had a nice supper and lots of good conversation.

I narrowly missed meeting Joaska & Zef911 and the Montreal GP this summer.

Funny thing is I found a Pelican who lives about two blocks away. I've emailed him a few times, and talked to him on the phone, but still haven't met up.

I've had the good fortune to meet a couple of dozen pelicans -- all good guys, lots of fun.... except for that John Cramer guy. What a prick! Heh.

Since moving upstate from NYC, the opportunities are fewer, but I still stay in touch with a number of the guys -- and an email from RoninLB is always a welcome highlight to my day, though I've learned not to open them at the office.

There are pix all over the board of some of our NYC meet-ups, Hershey hijinks, and my first Tabby encounter in LV.

onlycafe (dave) and I are just 30 mins apart, but we keep missing each other -- most recently by a few minutes/miles at the Vintage at the Glen. My theory: Witness Protection Program.

It's been easier for me to get together with Tabs than a guy who's virtually next door!
