BTW, fake field goal? What's up with that, it smacked of desperation. It worked well but not what I would expect from a team in the top 5.

In addition to the score being 28-16 (minus 7 for the fake FG still 21-16) Ol' Ball Coach ran a double reverse option pass. I think Miles wanted to give Spurrier some of his own medicine with a gadget.
Also, did you notice how the LSU kicker out ran the entire SC defense? That's TEAM speed for you. ;)
You must not have watched the game or you'd know that LSU played much of their backups also. Dorsey (the top defensive player in the NCAA) was drinking Gatorade for most of the fourth quarter.
Face it bro, there is no argument that USC plays a far inferior schedule to anything SEC team's face. There are seven games on the schedule for every one tough opponent USC plays.
In theory, the SEC is the AFC of NCAA Football. Now I'm not at all insinuating that USC is not one of the TOP programs in the country. The fact remains though they are rarely tested and when they are tested, they sometimes lose just like other great Teams. If they played a tougher schedule (SEC), RARELY would they finish undefeated.
