Exclamation DIY Jeep Guys

Hey all,

I've got a new set of headlights to put in my dad's 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and I need some help figuring out how to install them. Unfortunately, they're not the plug-and-play sealed beam unit on my Cherokee. They involve removing the headlight housing assembly, and I have no idea how to do that. Figured at least one of you on here would be able to tell me how!

I'm looking to get it done this weekend as a surprise.

Thanks in advance guys!

Katie,
I don't know how they come off of an older Grand, on a 99-04 you loosen a screw on the top and pull like hell and they will pop off. If you don't get any answers here go to www.jeepforum.com or www.jeepsunlimited.com and do a search as I am sure you will find the answer. You can order the factory service manual for the Jeeps from Chrysler, they are a great resource and are not very expensive. Go to Tech Authority's site and order the book as the CD's will not run with Windows XP--they forget to mention that when you order it.

You sure you need to remove the housing? Most the lights with the plastic lenses unplug from the back of the housing.

+1

get a Haynes manual to confirm, Katie

Kurt, that 95 I posted about has the nastiest rod rap you've ever heard. the guy clearly knew what was wrong with the truck and was playing the "someone told me it was just lifter noise" bit.

Go to a big local library. A lot of time the Haynes manuals are available.
