Finally got the wife a Bronco!

As previously discussed the wife has always wanted a removable top Ford Bronco. I found her one that will serve double duty as a boat puller. I almost got stuck on a boat ramp Sunday and wished I had 4x4.

I found this on a bronco forum. The guy was looking for a quad cab pickup. So we negotiated a swap. Worked out perfect. Definitely a good-ol-boy. Know his suspension and built this to the hilt.

This thing has quite a spec sheet:

Mods:
Swapped front independent axle to a solid axle using a '78 D44 equiped with warn shafts, CTM joints, Warn locking hubs, 4:10 gears, and an ARB locking differential.
All 8" new springs (front and rear) were used for this swap and it has custom extended radius arms.
Fresh Mustang GT roller motor with stainless steel Ford motorsport headers (sounds just like a GT Stang) Long block bought and installed by FOMOCO.
Recently rebuilt Trans. Runs like a champ and is street worthy as it is.
Other Mods: Custom front and rear bumpers...front bumper holds a 1200# MileMarker winch and off road lights, rear bumper is a swing away tire carrier and hold two jerry cans. Custom built side sliders/protectors.
Pioneer stereo, CB and custom mag lite holders at each door, Interior roll bar, a highlift jack.

Its a suprise. Hope she likes it.

Now if I can get her to let me drive the BMW once in awhile.

So I take it you're no longer looking or a Land Rover?

Very nice Bronco. I still miss the 78 I had in HS.

Correct. I couldn't get past the reliability issues. This is what I originally set out to find but good ones are few and far between. Finally got lucky.

Its a much more purpose built truck than I had envisioned. Its not really my style but I'm sure it will come in handy with the nuke's or global flooding come.

Wanna go off roading together?

http://plantbamboo.com/Weekly%20Bamboo%20Sales.htm

This is a huge piece of land that the owner lets people go out on and go 4 wheeling. I have not been there but I understand there are trails to drive and bogs to play in.

He got a lot of heat from the local government, so he opened up Plant Bamboo and now you pay admission to go on his land to plant Bamboo and buy Bamboo. I see these bumper stickers on 4x4's all over town.

I'm down if you are! Not much of a 4x4 guy but I'll try anything once (excluding butt piratry).

Is that rear bumper and spare carrier custom? I am looking for a setup like that for my 95 Bronco but can not find anything that is not custom made ($$$). It's an XT, so no factory spare carrier and I would not mind room for extra gas like that.

The PO made all the bumpers and the carrier. Quite the fabricator.

I figured so. Doesn't hurt to ask I suppose. I'll have to break the welder out eventually ...

Terry, what Bronco site did you find this on? Ever since seeing this thread, I'm considering getting rid of my Silverado extended cab for a Bronco. It would really suit my needs a bit better, and I've always wanted one.
