Amusing that he kept running when his hood flipped over the windshield.

The silver Golf? The driver of the GT3 called his friend and asked him to try to create a diversion to draw the police away!

Wow, what a brainiac. Future darwin award winner there. I don't understand people, and I don't think I ever will.

Not condoning such actions, but it seems to me that the GT3 driver would have gotten away if he didn't hit the guardrail on the onramp...

Looks like just another day at the track. Car hits rail and keeps going..................guess he didn't see the black flag the police were waving.

A lot of tire smoke from the bodywork burning from friction definitely made him easier to spot! When my '85 had its rear end "modified" by a pickup, I had a similar affect, just I didn't try to drive very far or fast!

Ahhh, the glory of it all....

Well, I'm going to finish an espresso, then go listen to the roar of an air cooled lawnmower for a few hours. I doubt any cops will be chasing me....

nah, he called a buddy to swap cars and so a buddy would continue and loose his license instead of him

this show is on tv weekly, true in this case, it was a real idiot being chased
but the commentary is always over the top, like using terms of roadcriminals for any sort of speeding, even if it's not that bad

it's a good show to find out what not to do in order to draw attention
these cops drive in traffic, unmarked cars, and they nab those who catch their eye
tailgating, right side over taking, extreme speeding , real obvious stuff
they generally won't chase you if you don't drive like a real idiot

there's another show, that also has similar footage
but it's not linked to the official cops, it's a lot less over the top regarding the commentary
the one from this show, then usually does an interview with the top traffic cop, called "Koos Spee"
who is famous for inventing ways to get new tickets , then they ask the real obvious questions, and they discuss it in a real childish way , as if talking about violent criminals...

Stijn, sounds like a show we have in the states. "World's Scariest Police Chases", they try to make every speeder into a half-hour drama. Plus they have some douchbag ex-cop with a huge forehead for a host, as well as some panzie patrolman that gives commentary. Quality television.

well, not really , this is the Netherlands
this GT3 is probably that 1 in 200 shown that actually tries to get away from the cops
usually they just pull over and either take it like a man
or ***** and whine cause there's camera's , or come up with lame excuses like, i thought i was being followed by carjackers

it's all packaged in documentary style, not action drama
my beef is simply that they just take the lecturing part over the top
somebody was speeding, they show the footage, exit chase footage, enter police traffic top dog and interviewer about the dangers shown in the footage and how bad it was...and what a road criminal it was, when in fact it was just somebody who just drove 135 in a 120, or did something stupid, but not criminal

we actually get those shows you mention here as well
they generally bore me to bits, especially the commentator (the one from COPS is just terrible)

I wish i could find a clip of it but i cant. I saw once on an episode of cops a targa that some guy stole from his boss he was trying to get away and spun out on an off ramp. he didnt hit anything and the cop was right up on him. He floored it and was out of sight right away. The cop later caught up with him crashed at an intersection where he tried to leave the highway but he so could have gotten away. That video made we want a porsche so bad!

I'm glad someone clarified the Porsche-VW bit, as I was kinda confused. Especially as I don't speak Dutch (or German, etc).

But I love those Golfs, I'd *almost* trade my Jeep in for one!
