Ahmadienjad at Columbia

Ok, I listened to the Dean of Colombia ask his questions to Ahmadienjad. They have given this man a public forum to answer these questions. Well after about 15 mins of listening to him he has not answered one question and instead decided to give the audience a lecture of science and the role of religion???? WTF.

EDIT: OK I mispelled Columbia. so sue me :P

Agree...let's see the student questions. Should be interesting.

Add: The interpreter is getting all worked up....woof.....

Here's one for him:

"Since your nation is obviously so interested in seeing the benefits of nuclear technology, how 'bout we give you a demonstration up close? How would you like that? How's next Thursday?"

widgeon13 09-24-2007 10:37 AM

Why don't we give him the keys to the ****ing city.

This action is profoundly ridiculous, he never should have been allowed to leave the UN property, f------ criminal.

RickM 09-24-2007 10:50 AM

Here's a good one:

"In Iran we don't have homosexuals like in your country"

widgeon13 09-24-2007 10:54 AM

They have them, they just kill them before anyone finds out.

Yeah, that's brilliant statement.

Yeah, CNN flat-out said, "The man is just talking, and answering no questions." That's why they didn't broadcast his speech.

I've mixed feelings about Ahmandienjad's visit - on one hand, it can be illuminating to, at least, have one's thoughts confirmed that this guy is a threat to the U.S. by having him visit. But on the other, why do we need this confirmation? What, if anything new, is he going to bring to his vitriol?

island911 09-24-2007 11:22 AM

I hear that the Dean of Columbia gave that nut-job a grilling 30min. intro. Good job!

Joeaksa 09-24-2007 11:24 AM

Very interesting discussion and he did not answer one frigging question directly.

At least he did admit that the holocost did occur, in europe at least. Guess thats one positive thing.

Agree with Jeff, we need to show them a demonstration of how a nuke works, up close and personal.

Why? Unless you're being your usual inflammatory self. SmileWavy

Nah, just not a spineless pacifist like many on the board.

He wants to know how it works, so we should show him. Or would you rather he use their nuke, when its developed, on Israel in their push to spread Islam around the world?

If you really think that Iran is not developing a nuke bomb, then you need professional help. Hopefully before they complete the bomb and use it on anyone who disagrees with them.

No, I don't need professional help. Not as much as you need wider-angle glasses to help with your pathetically myopic viewpoints.

Aside from Ahmadienjad verbally saying Israel should be wiped off the map, what tangible evidence is there that Iran has developed nuclear warheads, or wants to?

And while you're at it, find me those Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq.

The Saudi's say the same thing. Funny thing is that there are two hospitals in Saudi Arabia that are restricted to Saudi citizens only and to be admitted there you have to be HIV positive.

They do not have a HIV problem, or at least one that they will admit to publicly. Only way to find out about it is to be in-country. Bet that Iran is in the same situation with regards to HIV.

Peaceful nuclear programs generally don't require secret bunkers 30 stories below ground.

Why are you making it so easy for me??? :)

They are enriching uranium. Please tell me how enriched uranium is used in the generation of power? Will make it easy for you, its not. Its used only in the production of weapons.

Iran has admitted that they are in the process of enriching uranium. There is no other use for this material other than making a nuke bomb.

Your move... try to wiggle out of this one.

His plane should have a malfunction going back..oops

they do when people want to blow them up don't they? I just don't understand why we (the USA) reestablish diplomatic ties and hash this crap out. They just put out Rhetoric, same as we do, but our perceptions are that they are nut jobs...I am sure that they see it as we are nut jobs. It is a cultural perpective that blinds both of us.

Actually, you are wrong. Enriched uranium is used in reactors for power generation, and highly enriched uranium is used in weapons. The difference is in the degree of enrichment. Do we have intel that shows that they are going beyond what's needed for reactors? That would be the smoking gun.

At least he hasn't sent your sons & daughters to die in the dessert for WMD BS.
Let's put things in perspective.
