Yeah, Dan was the victim here. Sure does suck to make seven figures for 40 yrs. and then sue for eight figures for a better retirement.

The reporting was accurate, the document provided to his organization was faked.

Remember "Courage"
The man is a nut case and has proven it numerous times, he got worse as his ego took up a larger % of his brain cells. It happens with these major broadcast types. The more power they get the more they believe they can control the news, (not just influence it) as opposed to reporting it. Same thing has happened to "Little Miss Katie" |

It was that even after he knew that the document was faked, he continued to push it as being true. He showed that his purpose was to do anything he could to harm the party in office at the time, not report the news as he was hired and paid to do. Fortunately it bit him in the rear when the truth became known to people outside the news media.

I never said he didn't earn it. He just shouldn't earn anymore through jackpot justice.

I love this one;
"I've got a sneaky admiration for Dan Rather because I'm never sure when he's going to go bonkers on you. He always looks like he's gonna just stop and say, 'All right, mother****ers, here it comes. We've got the bodies in hangar 18, the government has been lying to you....' And then they're going to drag him off." --Steven King, quoted in the 1990 book, Anchors: Brokaw, Jennings, Rather and the Evening News by Robert Goldberg and Gerald Goldberg. Rather was known to do damn near anything to keep his ratings. |

![]() "Typical liberal" etc? Uh huh....kinda like O'Reilly for example? Maybe you need to take a chill pill Byron. I don't especially care what whack opinion you voice/write unless its calling lying "typical" of liberals. I'd buy "typical of politicians" which includes left, right and center....particularly the whoppers THIS Administration has been caught in, but don't call me "typical" if you're talking about lying....otherwise I'm gonna want to meet you at Rennsport too! ![]()

Like I really care enough to research this out, but my recollection is that after Dannyboy "knew" the bush military documents were fake, he continued to defend them with some kind of lame quote like "But that's what Bush would have done". Oh please, I disagree with Bush on the war, in retrospect, but PLEASE stick to the facts. BTW, hindsight is very good. Lets not forget that Saddam was a poser and he "posed" that he had nukes up until the bitter end. Why did he do that? Because he feared his local enemies more than the USA. Otherwise, if Bush lied, and people died, why didn't Saddam just say "Come on in and see what I had". Some of you guys are missing the big picture and not keeping your eyes on the ball. Personally, I think we should walk out of Iraq, and let oil go to $200/barrel, I drive a short distance to work, I'm well off and I can take the hit. In business, there is a concept called "Sunk Cost" your here your having to deal with now, not what we should have/could have/would have done. This is a concept that the Democrats understand, but hope the dirty unwashed masses don't get.

IIRC Rather admitted on Larry King he/his staff did not thoroughly research the document in question.
The man has lost his marbles. Either that, or his ego has simply gotten the best of him. Which means, I guess, Rather has lost his marbles.

Just watching the Today Show and they pretty much agreed, saying that this is a personal vendetta, with no basis on facts what so ever. Even said that he is doing this out of spite because he lost.
