F1 - Japan weekend and Belgium recap
Just waiting for qualifying to start and watching the Belgian GP highlights. Just revisiting that first corner move on Hamilton by Alonso. He didn't just swerve at him to push him wide or squeeze him to the side of the track, he was right over the curb and onto the grass tying to put Hamiton off the track. It's even more blatant than I remembered the first time I saw it.
Anyway, last I heard Kimi was quickest in practice so lets look forward to qualifying. If it does turn out to be a Ferrari track it will make the end to the season brilliant!

Hamilton on Pole. Should be a great race. Lewis should not give way, he has nothing to loose and should hold his ground; even if it gives a race to Ferrari.
Alonso has to learn that Hamilton is not afraid of his technics...

What will be interesting after a wet qualifying session is how the cars were set up. I'd have expected the cars to be run in a airly conservative balance, a compromise between a wet and a dry set up so they can be fairly safe if the race turns out wet or dry.
That said, looking at the way Kimi was sliding the car around in qualifying I wonder if he is running less downforce than the McLarens. That might be interesting if it dries for the race as he will be quick from the off while the McLarens would have to wait until thefirst stop before they can change anything. I guess the race is going to be good whatever the weather. I'm looking forward to another late night!

I am envious of the California guys right now, they get to watch the race a 9:30 tonight while I have to watch at 12:30 in the morning and yes. I will be up. Picking up some drinks and chips for the race tonight.

F1 is the only reason I have Tivo.
I never thought of that, I can get up in the morning at a sane time and watch live for the European races and its 4 your time. I normally Tivo the 7 in the morning races too and watch them in the afternoon with some drinks and snacks. My brother usually comes over, its sort of a tradition.

Same reason here... although it is a dish network DVR. I am usually in church Sunday morning so it makes for a nice afternoon, and skipping the commercials doesn't suck either.

Don't they have a flat screen there? I knew there was a good reason I don't go very often.

I bought a unit made by Humanex? Not sue of the brand name but it has a DVD burner built in so I can burn a race to DVD and take it anywhere to watch, like over to my brothers house.
I also put every race on DVD and put it away to watch during the off season. I cannot tell you how many times I have watched Brazil 2006 now.

I hate wet running behind the safety car, why do they even bother starting when it's that wet rather than just delaying for 30 minutes?
Also, whether it was legal or not, what on earth were Ferrari thinking starting on intermediate tires? I can't imagine what they possibly thought they could gain by doing so.

Have Ferrari really screwed up their strategy this weekend or what?

Anyone know the story of what I can only see as bar codes on the factory Ferrari cars and pit crew uniforms?

They're still sponsored by Marlboro but can't show the name due to the rule against tobacco sponsorship. I've seen less water spray at hydroplane races!

Without giving anything away if someone reads this before watching the race Kimi's passing move around the outside in wet conditions like that was awesome!
