Ouch! I hope your daughter is OK. What a worry it is to have your kids out there driving, surrounded by idiots!

Can't the police get this guy with the partial on the plate, seems to me they should be able to go right to his house. I don't mean to ask a silly question but was it obvious to your daughter that it was intentional? Was there contact between the two cars?

Hope your daughter is OK and this gets resolved. Pretty traumatic thing to experience at 17.

Considering the car and partial plate number I would imagine the Police can find out who he is.

That sucks Rick I hope your daughter is o.k.

Sorry, yes my daughter is ok, she has a fat lip, airbag burns on the left side of her face, a 3pt bruise from the seatbelt, and blue knees, from the dash. I'm glad she was wearing her seatbelt. She is a good driver (better than her mom )
The story goes, the BMW was racing with the Neon, and had been trying to get around another car. They went 3 wide on a passing lane (2 lane rd) and the BMW went off the left side of the road, when he snapped the car to the right he drove her into the guard rail. She should have backed way off when the passing started but being 17, it never occured to her to get away, and there were cars behind her.
I'm very upset that he kept going. He knew he wrecked her. People comming the other way and stoped (the road was blocked) told the police that the BMW was flashing his lights to warn about the wreck.
The police are looking for him, but it isn't high on the list of crimes and I understand that. I figure if I can find him first I can make the police do the right thing fast........very fast.
On a good note, she is excited since she will be driving my E36 until I get her another car. The way the Corolla help up (I'm very impressed) I might just look for another one.

Felony hit-run/leaving scene of accident. Rare car/partial plate... why isn't this moron already in jail?

Did he make contact with her car? I'd think they'd track this guy down pretty easily.

My condolences. Check out this website forum http://www.unitedbimmer.com/forums/index.php if you havnt seen it already. They have regional parts of the forums there too. Also keep the lookout for questions on body work and the such.

I also want to add that if this guy was racing then he's probably a show off. If he's a show off im sure he probably posted videos on youtube as well like all those other young punks.
www.youtube.com
Search up Virginia e34 or something similar. You may see an old video of this guy racing other people, if your lucky, you'll be able to see the licence plate. I know its a long shot as well, but im sure you want to try all options.

Wayne's advice seems sound to me. Though it amazes me that police anywhere wouldn't be anxious to nail a hit and run driver.

You gotta realize here in Va if the criminal doesn't just show up at the door of the police station with a dozen do-nutz they aren't going to spend alot of time looking for them. My daughter means nothing to the law here, None of us matter. I will find the puke, I'm getting some good leads, and a few things are falling into place...................he will get his I assure you.
I don't expect that car to come out into the light for a week or so, but judging by his driving, he will HAVE to drive it soon.
You gotta remember I live in a smal rural area and I was a BMW tech for several years. I have tons of friends in Body shops here (he has damage) and I will get him.

then I will make a post something along the lines of "need a good defence lawyer"

Sorry to hear abour your daughter, thank fully she will be okay.

Be careful about what you post on the internet in regards to finding the other driver and your ideas about what to do when you do find him..... the last thing your daughter needs is for her dad to end up in more trouble that the idiot BMW driver.

Cheers

Rick M, the roadfly has been done. I've been there for years, Thanks for the offer though.
Jeff, I am aware this is a public forum and I have yet to make a threat, but thanks for the heads up.
Thank everybody for the good thoughts with regard to my daughter
