"Good" days for criminals in Dallas

Well it's been a good couple of days for criminals in Dallas. Here are a couple of headlines from the Dallas Morning News. As much as I dislike guns, it sure makes me remotely consider getting one some day.

West Dallas business owner kills 2 suspected burglars in 3 weeks
Quote:
A Ledbetter-area business owner fatally shot a suspected burglar Sunday morning – the second time in three weeks that he killed an intruder, Dallas police said...

Homeowner kills burglar in Dallas
Quote:
A homeowner in Northwest Dallas shot and killed an intruder early Tuesday after the homeowner’s pet bird alerted him that someone was on the premises. ..

In Illinois, the first guy would still have been in jail so he wouldn't have been around to shoot the second burglar...

Gotta love it. He's even shooting people outside of his business!

"Police said Mr. Walton also noticed another man outside Sunday. Mr. Walton shot and wounded that man."

Horray for Texas. A few less burglars in our court and prison system. We have similar laws in KS, that's the way it should be.

:APPLAUSE:

If this keeps up, either all the bad guys will be gone, or they will think twice about breaking into peoples homes.

Funny thing is that when you shoot a few of them they tend to either go elsewhere or even think about getting a job and not robbing people! Novel idea...

you could easily go to prison for killing an assailant inside your home in California

Same in Illinois. You pretty much have to prove that they intended to kill you based on precedents in this state.

Shooting the other guy in the front lawn would get you put away for a long time around here.

Of course, Jesse Jackson would show up and protest too...

Oh, and when this stuff does happen in IL, it is rarely reported in the newspapers. They wouldn't want people to think that guns could save innocent lives or anything.

Glad Missouri just passed a law changing the requirement to show you retreated before using deadly force. Now if the bad guy is just in your house you can put a quick end to the threat.

Friend of mine went to a gun shop (in IL) recently with a friend from Missouri. They were buying shells for trap shooting. Friend from IL had to show FOID card (which costs $5 and takes 6-8 weeks to get). Friend from Missouri just said: "I'm from Missouri." and purchased the stuff without ID.

Yes, that is how the laws in IL are written...

Damn that has to be a PIA! While they do keep ammunition behind the counter at Walmart all you do is just tell the counter guy what and how much you want and then throw it in the cart with the milk and other grocery items.

We also like to start our firearms training early here in MO.

Nope, I have to purchase it at the Sporting Goods counter.

Once, at Wal Mart, I bought a video game, a box of shells, and six-pack of beer.

I had to make each purchase at a different counter...

I always found it amusing that Wal Mart keeps their cartridge ammo behind the counter, but shotgun shells out on the shelf. Apparently shotguns aren't dangerous.

+1

Lol. I have always thought that was pretty funny too. Last I checked, 00 buckshot will make you just as dead as any bullet.
