Mercury/Mariner outboard repair question...

Does anyone know of a good site/forum for asking a question? I've found a few decent sites that seem to be "archived", but nothing that appears to be active. Here're my specific question. On my 150 outboard, I've got two (different) temperature sensors/senders and am replacing both. On the port side, the sensor was very straight forward, and simply swapped out with no problem. On the starboard side, the sensor is more like a "rubber plug" into the head with a wire protruding...how does it pull out? I'm afraid to simply pull on it (via the wire), and it doens't seem obvious. I know this is a long shot, but there's a ton of knowledge/experience on this board

Thanks Chuck, that's what I really need is a "guru" just to tell me I'm OK just to "yank it out"...usually I wait and ask AFTER I've screwed something up . I'll look up his number if I can't find the answer...

seeing triple 300 mercs off the ass end of one of his boats was to say the least an EYEOPENER!

did me right many times over when i was STOOOOO-PID and owned a 460 OMC KING COBRA shoe horned into a 26 ft four winns.

i am now a dyed in the wool merc man. and he taught me why. interesting oil story. he puts pennzoil in ALL HIS ENGINES. no matter what application.

reason................when boat sinks...........none , I MEAN NONE OF THE INTERNAL parts have lake scum on them! unlike all other oils. makes for easier cleaning and quicker rebuilds.

from the home of the LEMON LAKE. LAKE POWELL! cant make a payment? sink it at powell, dont like the boat? sink it at powell, dont know jack about lake powell? you will sink it very fast during monsoon storms july/august at lake powell. getting deeee-vorced.............sink it at lake powell.

reason ?????? unrecoverable! lake is too deep for divers(me) to recover. man i cant wait til that lake goes dry............im a gonna get me a coupla nice ones and claim salvage rights! hahahahaha
