Stupid Vista Question
I run Vista for the xBox developer toolkit.
Although the dev tools are published by MSFT I get that stupid warning about an unsigned/unrecognized app or some crap like that trying to run and do I want to allow it. How do you tell Vista to trust it all the time? It really is stupid that I should have to do this considering both OS and tool are published by the same company. Scott

Im not at my Vista machine right now, but I dealt with this six months ago. I think this is your solution:

Doan ask me, I'm still running windows 3.0 and have trouble remembering if i should do a front slash or a back slash in DOS
![]() Seriously, no help from me but from what I've heard from the IT wonks at work (no personal experience) stupid vista should be one word. They bag on vista as if it were labelled 666. Is it really that bad? |

I had done the 1st part but it had fits. The 2nd part looks to solve my issue. The problem is it will no longer alert you to an attempted malware install. I get what MSFT are trying to do. Address the security concerns of their consumers. I'd like to see them adopt the same approach as the guys from Cupertino. Ask for permission to install an app (modify the system) then assume that app is approved for all future use instead of making me authorize it every time I need to run it. At least for products that they themselves make/distribute ![]()
