You Americans seem very fond of Dynasties.

Bush

Clinton

Bush

Clinton (possibly)

20+ years headed by two families.

You also have your Kennedies. These families almost looks like trademarks.

Yet, dynasties does not seem to sit overly well with the typical American perspective of life, does it ? The classic TV series like Dallas and Dynasty etc all seem to have been making a little bit of fun of dynasties.

What am I missing?

Eager to comprehend!

Well, Livi you sorta gotta look at it like this.... There are only 3 kind of Americans. Those who chew tobacco driving around in trucks killing things, those who want to make their freinds think they are really smart and shave their chest hair and those who like to take it up the poop shoot..... Add all three together and you get a pretty good picture of the politicians were are able to get elected.....

Now, she had a dream about the king of Sweden,
He gave her things that she was needin',
He gave her a home built of gold and steel,
A diamond car with a platinum wheel.

Now, he gave her his townhouse and his racing horses,
Each meal she ate was a dozen courses;
She had a million dollars worth of nickels and dimes,
And she sat around and counted them all a billion times.

****

Actually the King of Sweden is a pretty cool dude, and a bit of a car guy - although he recently got pissed and drove his M3 into the back of someone in a traffic circle - or at least that's the way the story was told to me. What's the skinny on that Livi?

Anyway, here's a cool pic of His Majesty driving a vintage BMW in the Mille Miglia:

Aurel,

Yes I voted for Bush, #1 Both times, He was the lessor of two evils.

as for Jr. yes I voted for him as well. The Evil that you know is less evil than the one that you don't. it was a VERY sad election with out any clear winners - NOT the potus but us, the public that had very little choice.

#2 is far from the best choice, and it might have been the first time that I would have voted for a JACKASS for Pres. but they ran as big of fool for the job.

If I could resurrect one from the past it would be Teddy Roosevelt.

Yes, he came from $$$ but he had the common man @ heart, as well as the State of our Country. And Just remember opening the national park system.

and many US presidents have blood ties to Euro royals
with the Bush'es having the most of it, ties to 2 royal lines

descendants of Edward III of England
George Washington
Thomas Jefferson
John Quincy Adams
Theodore Roosevelt
Franklin Roosevelt

descendants of Edward I of England
James Madison
William Henry Harrison
Benjamin Harrison
Zachary Taylor
Franklin Pierce
Grover Cleveland
William Taft
Gerald Ford
George H.W. Bush (also descendant Alphonso I of Portugal)
George W. Bush (also descendant Alphonso I of Portugal)

Rutherford Hayes descendant of David I of Scotland

Warren Harding descendant of Ethelred II of England

Calvin Coolidge descendant of Henry II of England

Herbert Hoover descendant of John of England

quite funny considering the US came to be out of a strong disagreement with Royal rule
