The Boston Red Sox are...
Good! :D
|
Let's see, Jacoby Ellsbury...the rookie pride of Madras, Oregon...four hits, three doubles, and I can't remember the number of RBI's. Not bad for a rookie...;)
(edit) I forgot to add...Chevrolet player of the game. :D (*more edit) Cindy & I were LOL when an announcer said that Madras was "South of Portland"... There aren't many towns in Oregon NOT "South of Portland". Madras is a wee bit South...and a LOT East of Portland... |
Oregon's good, too. :(

I'm starting to believe they might actually pull this one off. . .
But I know better than to start poppin' champagne until the fat lady sings. The Rockies proved tonight that they can explode and score runs on this team, given the opportunity. They're not out yet. They're a very, very good team still. Tonight's win was huge. Actually the hugest part was the Sox coming back and getting hits (and runs) following CO pulling within one run in the 6th. That was absolutely crucial, far as I'm concerned. Too often when a team that's been dormant suddenly gets momentum shifting their way, the other team (Sox, in this case) "freeze up", which makes the damage worse. If the Rockies heat up, fine. Just the Sox ABSOLUTELY had to stay hot with 'em. Thankfully, they did. If they'd have frozen up and let the Rockies win it, CO would have had enormous momentum going into Game 4 tomorrow. Great win. I'm going to be cheering hard for 'em tomorrow! Bring another one home Red Sox!!! |
Definitely, and especially when you're talking baseball...it's never over until it's over.

I concede the World Series to the filthy Sox.
If there is one good thing to come of this it's that they have to stop the pathetic whining about bad luck once and for all. Oh yea, and they need to trade that Ellsbury kid, he's too classy for the Red Sox :) |
David Ortiz is the man...

In all seriousness, I thought that the Rockies would fight harder than this. It seems that their 9 days off really cost them.
I wouldn't be surprised if Colorado won tonight... but then it's Beckett time again Monday. Granted, it's not over until the last out of the last Red Sox win is recorded, but only one team has EVER come back to even force a game 7 - let alone win - after being down 3-0, and that team was, of course, the Boston Red Sox. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1193587390.jpg |

You know the second-best part about this series?
1. No Yankees. 2. No Mets. Ahh, baseball bliss. :) |

Maybe throw in Beckham as a bat boy or something - the big Brit bomb. |
I don't have a horse in this race, but
althought the sox are good, it's magnified by how pitiful the Rockies are playing. How the heck did they get this far. I haven't watched them all year, but even their fundamentals just aren't there. Loved the pick off move a few games ago. Rockies player not even paying attention. |
The best part of yesterday was Matsuzaka's 2RBI hit. Hilarious!
Anyone know offhand if the Japanese leagues play by AL or NL rules? I think the pitchers there actually hit, so he's no stranger to how to swing a bad, obviously. . . Once again, they underestimated him. I think Dice-K is the real deal, it just took him some time to adapt to American style baseball. |

sweet!

OK, what's with Manny taking his helmet off while rounding the bases?
What a tool. |

Makes me feel good that it took 7 games to beat the Indians and it looks like the "best' of the National League is about to be swept in 4! Only thing better is if the Indians were beating the Rockies like a drum!!!

It's officail...the Boston Red Sox are...love 'em or hate 'em...world series winners!
