I think the 953 had backdated heat LOL

I know it's one of Dave's babies and all (isn't it?) but $65 grand *cough cough*

Very cool car, indeed. Interestingly, I just read that Excellence article this morning. While a LOT of hard work and painstaking detail went into this car, I don't know if I'd part with $65K of my own dollars for it, though.

I've seen this car in person. It's very well done. Worth $65K? I'd say so.

It's kind of sad.. it is sucj a NICE replica and they put such crappy seats in the car. why not just put RECARO like the real car had or has.... those seast in the car now look like poo.. and I sure they fit like poo as well.

according to Porsche's website, the 4x4 911 in Dakar had EFI..
none of the other technical thingies like dual fuel tank, and 4x4 drive

so 64 grand for a badly executed replica, just the cosmetics part... that's a lot of money

Even if it was 100% correct in performance characteristics, where the heck would you drive this thing?

Still, very cool execution on the cosmetics, and the car looks great!

Hopefully Damon will chime in. I believe he is building one of these using a C4 chassis. Should be interesting.

I think I followed this guy into the Ventura Fairgrounds last year for GAF. I can't say anything about performance, but the engine sounded *****in and the attention to detail superb!

The car is still too low for Michigan's pot holes.

Up Barham Blvd., past Warner Bros. Trying to get it a movie role, of course.

First, you need to price a real 953 - one of the only three remaining - and work backward. At the day's end, $65K probably still isn't that much.

Man, I would drive that all over the fire roads in CA, or the sand at Pismo. And what about rallies...

i respectfully disagree

why price a 953, when we are talking about a cosmetically altered SC?

what's the price of a core SC for this conversion?
then the cost to make it cosmetically look like a 953

i seriously doubt that you'll even get near 65 grand...

this car has nothing fancy in terms of it's engineering
none of the "special" things that a 953 would/should have

nothing, just a raised suspension
a bit of body panel work, mud flaps, repro lights(not even expensive) and a paint job...
the engine doesn't even have mods to it
i would not even call this a replica, it's a clone, and there are much better "clones" to be found or made for that kind of money

Porsche Crest

One of the real ones sold at the Amelia Concours a few years back, and I think it sold for less than this. Still a way cool car!!!
