Mr. Mojo Risin' turned one today!

My dog Mojo (Mr. Mojo Risin') turned one today. What a great dog. Just thought I would share some photos.

Here are a couple when we brought him home and a couple today.

Thanks Keith. He does seem to like the water, but still won't swim in a pool without coaxing. I think it has to do with the steep edges.

Lube, No truer words have been spoken. Ever since we brought him home he has eaten sticks, rocks, you name it. I thought he would grow out of it but he still produces multi-colored poops. To his credit, he still hasn't eaten anything I care about.
The first time he had a "dangler", he thought he was done and stood up to walk away and that "dangler" swung down and hit him square in the nut sack. Never seen him jump that high before or since.

Dogs and water, always interesting.

We had friends whose parents live lakeside, had a boat dock, rocky shoreline.
They began to notice larger rocks (like two fists size and larger, laying on the
shoreline that they normally kept raked, (only small rocks/pebbles)? They though kids were swimming at night and placing the larger rocks there for some reason?

Their neighbors owned a black lab.

One day the lady is looking out her back window toward the lake, sees the black lab down by their dock, alone, no owner. The dog wades out, disappears under the water, seconds elapse! She is about to bolt out the door when the dog re-appears ...with a large rock in its teeth! Walks up ...drops it on the shore! Again... again ... he repeats it, diving underwater, retrieving rocks... carrying them to the shore.

They found the culprit.

My brothers Lab is insane around water. I think she would jump out of his boat if she could clear the rail. I hope the severe insanity won't spread to my dog when we visit this summer.

Great looking dog, watch the pool..he needs to learn where to get out. My Lab pup would go in with gusto..then paddle about..getting tired and confused. Now goes in , but knows where the steps are.

Couldn't be more true. I actually think my dog "Sooner" would swim to literal death/drowning if I did'nt stop him. I KNOW for a fact he'll swim past the point of exhaustion:

Can't tell you how many times in a row he swam across this lake on my sister-in-law's property:

By the way, what's the REAL truth about that puppy, now adult? Its a Rhodesian Ridgeback, isn't it or have I got it wrong? I REALLY like the look of them but have heard conflicting stories about whether they are fighters with other dogs. They certainly are beautiful dogs. Can you see past your love of him to give an accurate account? (I can't with my dog!)

Dan, Beautiful dog. Looks just like my brother's except his is female.

My dog is a Vizsla (Hungarian Short Haired Pointer). The Vizsla breed is (from what I understand) one of the most loving / gentle breeds. Mine holds true to that. He genuinely loves other dogs and people. Very VERY friendly and loves to play. When people ask what breed he is I tell them Vizsla, when they reply with a confused stare or " I've never heard of that breed, I reply "Hungarian Lick Hound" ;-)

These are my two guys. One I've had since a pup, the other is an ongoing (4 years later) rescue project. They love the water too, are insane about it. The lower picture is of Kona who found a full beer can while playing. I pulled it out of his mouth with about 1/4 left. Don't think he actually drank much of it.

Great looking dogs Jerry. Now if you could just get Kona to get the beer out of the fridge and bring it to you (unopened of coarse) that would be something else ;-)
