Well, I received my first bit of feedback this morning.

While going out to my truck to leave for work, a neighbor stopped by and expressed his appreciation for the public awareness project and also made comment that he was happy to have seen a deputy in the neighborhood yesterday that was monitoring traffic.

Do you find people have slowed down?

Any bites from the media?

Nothing from the media.

I have not noticed a decline in speed, but the neighbor told me that (of course) people were driving extra slow while the deputy was parked on the street.

I have had emails from the sheriff's office and from the council member for our area. The police promised an increased presence in the area and the council member pledged her support.

I just finished updating the website by adding a "news and updates" section. This gives me an area to keep everyone up to date with what's happening.

Our annual homeowners meeting was last night so I thought I would make this update.

As expected, mixed but mostly unfavorable comments from the neighbors. Only two actually said anything. Most just treated me like a leper. But like I said, I expected it.

A city cop lives in our neighborhood and was extremely pissed about the whole thing. He actually said, "I don't see what the big deal is about people going 5 or 10 over the speed limit."

The developer who still owns much of the property in the neighborhood threatened to sue me and demanded that I remove the photo of his truck and his sons truck. I told him to have his attorney contact me.

Unlike Jake's project, this never got picked up by any of the local media.
