Guys, take it easy. Some of you may not know this, but dd74 is Jerry Seinfeld.

I still think you're funny, Jerry

So are you! You do know that some newbies here might actually believe this?

sketchers356 11-05-2007 10:39 AM

I think that the funniest part of Seinfeld was not the jokes but the delivery by the actors.

Strangely, my brother, who is a professional actor, thinks the acting is terrible, so what do I know.

Jerry is definitely cool for his car collection though. Did he have to drive the Saab on the show though?

rammstein 11-05-2007 10:47 AM

Putty worked as a salesman at the Saab dealership, so I think he had to. :D

In some episodes, he had a BMW 5 series. Remember the valet with the BO?

Several of Jerry's Porsches made cameos in the show too. Watch the marble rye episode to see a killer '73 RS in front of Susan's parents' house.

It doesn't matter if Jerry Seinfeld never makes anyone laugh ever again. He was the driving force behind the funniest sitcom ever made. He's a first ballot comedy hall of famer. So what if the Bee Movie sucks? Babe Ruth struck out a few times, too.

trekkor 11-05-2007 11:09 AM

Seinfeld is still the funniest show on TV.
I've seen *every* episode at least five times. Hilarious.

The current "writer's strike" should be viewed as needed relief from the trash sold as entertainment.

Hey! How about that "caveman" show...

Ditto. The Bee Movie is for kids anyway.. I am sure they like it..

gprsh924 11-05-2007 11:13 AM

Seinfeld is probably my all-time favorite TV show, and I was too young to really watch any of it when it originally aired.

trekkor 11-05-2007 11:14 AM

I don't go "out to the movies" anymore ( too, gross. Sticky ).

I'll watch Bee on DVD.

Never liked his comedy, never really watched the show. Only thing Jerry has going in my book is a love for the 356...

Rick! No way man, Larry Sanders is comic genius on another level.

I think Shandling and Seinfeld write and act very similarly - neither can keep a straight face when their 'real actor' counterparts are seriously going off on one. Makes watching their shows even funnier when you see them corpsing I think. If I had to pick one to watch as a last request it would be Sanders.

Jerry is very funny. His Sitcom was halarious... lately Jerry has been out promoting his Bee Movie, even doing some standup and appearances on late night TV. His 'slice of life' observations are insightful and laced with irony.

That having been said... I have not seen Bee Movie....but it appears to me, from watching quite a few of the clips that the animation/illustrations are just plain weird in an odd sort of way. The main 'characters' are just not very cute at all.... I mean even "Shrek" was sort of cute, and certainly "Cars" and "Happy Feet" had adorable, cute, loveable looking characters... but Bee Movie just doesnt have that sort of visual feel to it.... at least not to my eyes...but I dont speak for all of the children in the world.... I just thought that they could have made it cuter, since it is a cartoon.

Also...if you want to talk about UN-Funny... just mention Frank Caliendo (sp)...that
guy is not funny and his impressions are pretty lame.

WRONG. SEINFELD is one of the all-time greatest shows ever to air on network TV... but the funniest show ever HAS to be ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT. Too smart for its own good.

That being said, I always thought Seinfeld's stand up was great. I haven't seen BEE MOVIE, so I can't attest to that - but I have noticed that the animated Pixar-type movies have been slowly going downhill in terms of quality for awhile. The studios probably see how profitable they are and are saturating the market with lower-quality, rushed products. Seems they hit their nadair with MONSTERS INC. and FINDING NEMO.

Jims5543 11-05-2007 12:17 PM

Guys, I have to admit, I have posting under an assumed screen name, I am Jerry.

+1

I still haven't seen the last season since they changed what night it was on so they could cancel it...

Happy Feet = Worst Movie Ever.

I always thought of "Leaving Las Vegas" as the worst movie ever. Starring Nicholas Coppola and Elizabeth Shue. Won best picture. Nicholas Coppola plays the same character in every single movie: a slight off-kilter (car thief, convict, attorney...) that shouts and waives his hands a lot. Elizabeth Shue is pretty, but couldn't act her way out of a box.

Have you seen Happy Feet?
