2002 Land Rover Freelander, anyone?

Looking at the small Freelander for the wife/winter. Anyone have first hand knowledge about the vehicle, I know Disco's and Range's are sketchy but have not heard about the Freelander. Any info would help. Cheers.

There are much safer choices in the Rav4, CRv, FJ Cruiser, Jeep Compass/Liberty.

Unless you need to go off road...not just a muddy/ snowy, dirt track or muddy field, the CRV and RAV 4 are better bets as reliable daily drivers....plus the Freelander, like its big brothers is a member of AA.....

Even here they are rare compared to the others ...and nobody would recommend one as a non off road car over a CRV....

But as many here are farmer types and do need the articualtion and Hill Descent Control etc they do have a good following..

4Runner has the off-road prowess and goodies, but will run forever. Our 2003 was flawless. Just an idea.

This thing has more recalls and TSBs against it than anything else out there. Stay away !
The new one's allright though. Same with old disco vs the new LR3..

Even Land Rover would prefer that that thing be long forgotten.
