Today's Mystery: Did this come from my cat?
My personal theory is that it's a poor unfortunate creature who died upon entry into the Kitty Litter Box. He happened to be crawling past, caught a whiff of the nasty fumes, passed out, and was later discovered by my lovely wife ... who is suspicious because of the fact that it was found in the Kitty Litter Box.
It's about 5/16" of an inch across; those are grains of cat litter next to it. It's noticeably smaller than a penny, and was slightly larger than the 1/4" spaces between the tile. So the question for all you animal experts: Did this thing come from our cat? Do we need to take it to an honest-to-goodness Vet for treatment? Or is this "ok?" Thanks in advance. ![]() Dan ![]()

I see those in the basement all the time. I'm sure it just crawled in there and died.

No. It doesn't look like a cat worm to me. Tap it with something. Does it have almost a shell on it? It looks like the type of worm/milipede that lives in damp basements.

Sounds good to me. I just wanted a second opinion, really. Thanks for the backup, gentlemen.

Can't say whether or not it's some sort of intestinal worm, but if you suspect that your cat has worms, I have a fairly easy, quick, cheap solution.
We had kittens once, long ago. They all got worms, pretty badly. Roomate "trained" the kittens to take food from plates. Often, very agressivley... To curb this, we started eating hot sauce, Lots of it. Dave's Instanity Sauce. Some of the kittens developed a taste for it. The worms, however, did not. Worms were scrambling to get out about as fast as they could. "Run away! Flee!" ![]() Imagine spaghetti noodles being pressed to shape through the die...

Wolfe, that's a disgusting story. I love it. I'm going to have to tell that at work.

Take the cat to the Vet anyway. Your intuition is trying to tell you something.
