Simple products that's made an impact in your life

I've never given Velcro a second thought until I became a daddy again. Disposable diapers now have the hook and loop stuff unlike almost a decade ago before my oldest boy was potty trained. Back then all diaper manufacturers used gummy sticky tab enclosures that would fail maybe one out of ten times. My new little boy goes through 8 or 9 diapers a day. Imagine the savings by having a 100% yield out of each box of diapers.

It's 2:30 AM and I just finished doing a diaper change. Now if someone can just invent a truly absorbent diaper...

What simple product has made your life simpler?

I appreciate my eye glasses every waking hour of every day...and my script sunglasses as well.

Ah, the 2.30 AM diaper. Brings back memories! :D

Thanks for the tip on the super absorbant diaper. I need something new to patent.

The most useful I discovered from my first child were not a thing, but my grandfathers. Now four kids later, I could not have done it without them. Not sure they feel the same however. Once a parent - always a parent. :D

Ah yes ...Velcro.

If they had only invented it sooner...and applied it to the fastening of bras.

Would have certainly saved much frustration and fumbling in the back seat of those cars!

Gillette Mach 3. I could never get a good shave before it, and it reduced the shaving time drastically.

click pens

My hands don't get ink all over them anymore since I started using them. Truly amazing that just having a pen tip retract back into the pen can save so much frustration.

Shaun is right, PB Blaster is crucial for anyone with a raggedy ass old german car.

Shaun @ Tru6 11-18-2007 06:48 AM

PB Blaster. Couldn't live without it.

The thermos, it keeps hot stuff hot and cold stuff cold. The big question is "How does it know"

Christien 11-18-2007 07:39 AM

Pro Solve. It's a carpet cleaner that works unbelievably well. Runny dog poops, cat puke, food spills, you name it. Blot, soak, blot and wipe - no stains, ever. Amazing stuff.

Maybe not strictly a PRODUCT, but the advent of Amazon.com's used books section has completely changed how I've done my academic research. Instead of tracking down out-of-print texts in remote university libraries, or paying huge fees for online scholarly journals, I can usually find the hard copy at an Amazon used book shop - usually for just a couple dollars. Unless it's a brand new book, I never go to Borders/B&N anymore; why would I - if I don't mind waiting 6 days for something, I can pay $3 instead of $15 to $35.

Porsche-O-Phile 11-18-2007 08:56 AM

Condoms.

And beer.
