NY to TX
My drive last month got delayed.
Planning on taking off Sunday morning in the 911. Wife thinks I'll be hitting the Holiday traffic. Opinions on that? Here's my route. ![]() View Larger Map Figure stop over in Knoxville TN for the night. Anyone have any idea of what the weather will be like Sun-Tues along this route?

You should have no problems, just try to avoid hitting any city during rush hour. That was one of my Routes for college in TX, when I lived in Schenectady.
So, You're taking I-80 to I-81? My only concern is PA roads suck. They always seem to be working on them! I-80 is only 2 lanes each way through most of PA. Once you're on I-81, you'll be fine. Remember, radar detectors are illegal in VA.

The 81/64 and 81/77 junctions can be horrific.

The BBQ will improve, the closer you get to Texas

Be careful between Little Rock & Texarkana, you're likely to encounter many low-flying black helicopters.

dry rub ribs at Vergos Renevouz in Memphis, for sure! (across the street from the Peabody). Also great pulled pork. The closer you get to Texas, the more tomato-based and sloppy the sauce.

Sauce? We don't need no stinking sauce!
There are plenty of places around here that are salt, vinegar and mesquite wood smoke. Sauce is on the side, for pussies. It's like putting beans in chili. It just isn't done.

Agree and the ribs at the Renevouz is one of the best I have ever had. Just different from the BBQ in Tejas. Both are excellent and different at the same time!
