Resize the image to 800x600, try and add some compression if it is a .jpeg(.jpg) file and upload. The file has to be below 2 megs (at least it used to).

First you need a pic- preferably of a girl with little clothing.

Then go to the POST REPLY icon .
Then click below where it says "Click here to Upload a Photo"
Then look for the folder where your pic is stored (ex. "my pictures" or "my documents"
Then stand back

I opened an account with www.Photobucket.com

I upload my pictures there, then there is a tag line so you can cut and paste a link to your pics here.

There is a at each end.

If you upload it directly here, keep it to 800 pixels wide max, and 97.65k (100,000 bytes). Otherwise, the Pelican software will resize it and probably damage the image quality. Photobucket is great because it's free and will host .gifs, too.

True. The "random video" thread is a great example.

Wayne- what's the chance of increasing the limit here to uploading images up to 1024 pixels wide and 300k without being re-sized? The current limits seem low and many images get badly damaged with low-quality compression.

I'm no Wayne, but I think the current size restrictions are more than reasonable to get the point across. I don't think we need Wayne to buy 10 zillion gigs of space so we can post higher-res pictures of girls asses and Martini cars.

I was not expecting you to be against this.

So you encourage us all to use your site to host our pics?

This seems like a huge strain on your server. I thought I was being a good guy by hosting my pictures myself and not hitting up your server.

I stand corrected.

Wayne, since the serve upgrade, I am unable to upload photos, and I'm not the only one. Does anyone have some help for those of us? The window open, it uploads the files, but the link does not get saved into the window.

From Wayne's post in the other thread:

Get rid of the IP reference and only use forums.pelicanparts.com - you have an old bookmark from when we were moving servers.

Works fine for me in Firefox with default settings too...
Give that a shot.
