If you wear a flag pin, you're a Patriot. that's pretty much all there is to it.

Folks that oppose the government and advocate its destruction are also called "Patriots."

If you truly care about this country and want to make it a better place and are willing to sacrifice for it, you are a patriot.
If all you do is take all the freedoms and opportunities for granted that this country offers, and enjoy talking crap about this country and it's leaders at every opportunity, you are not a patriot. You are a commie traitor. |

Where did all those yellow bumper magnets go to?
I know they were made in China so I could probably get a deal on a half case.

a pledge pin?!? on your uniform?!?
I don't think we talk crap about this country and it's [sic] leaders at *every* opportunity. Just the ones where it is deserved. OK, to be fair, let's give equal time. Stained blue dress. Sandy Berger. "I invented the Internet" OK, commence neocon radial self-pleasuring... |

I think W's/USA's actions in the ME will historically be viewed as the moment when the ME started on a long path to Democracy and freedom. Yes, I truly believe this.
![]() I also believe most of the domestic "frack ups" W has done will ultimately be forgotten. Being a traditional conservative myself (not whatever is being called "Republican" today) I think Bush has failed on cleaning up (eliminating) the IRS, making government smaller, immigration policy and saving the puppies. So, the most controversial and derided policy today will be the policy that will eventually frame W as a great president. Best, Kurt |

But trying to be completely objective, I don't think Bush will ever be regarded as a great President. if anything, he will be noted for squandering the greatest opportunity for keeping the U.S. on top for the next century. September 12 forward, Bush blew it. With the entire world, Iran included, behind us, he could have sent out an army of State Department diplomats and built an amazing coalition united in strength around the world. Instead he went against the entire world, blew the Treasury, and has diplomatically and economically crippled our country. that's what he will be remembered for. and getting Moldavia in the Coalition of the Willing.

I bought a pin, tried to pin it on and pierced a nipple.
In an agonized rage (to put it conservatively) I burned the pin (cheap Chinese pot metal, melted like a bleeding heart liberal wimp), ground it into my garage floor with the heel of my jack boot and dumped it unceremoniously in the garbage. I'm a patriot, but I draw the line at pierced nipples!

Negative opinion of US, Zogby poll, June 2002 Saudi Arabia 87% Egypt 76% Morocco 61% UAE 87% The only thing your army of State Dept diplomats could do to turn those numbers is to personally drive the bulldozers that push the Israelis into the Mediterranean. In early 2002, the number one book in France (breaking first-month book sales) was a book about how 9/11 was an inside job. Last edited by Rearden; 11-28-2007 at 10:33 AM.. |

you're intellectual (cough cough) cowardice is showing.
After the 2002 State of the Union Axis of Evil speech with an aggressive, almost immediate launch of the "Go to War with Iraq campaign" you bet the Arab world was against us by June, and the rest of the world (save Modavia) was turning against us as well. Are you really that stupid? Read the f'ing speech, go back and look at what the Bush Admin did between Sept. 01 and June 02. And thanks for making my point.

again more dishonesty from you.
it speaks to a miniscule fraction of the world population. What, you thought the 9/11 hijackers were the only people in the entire world who hated the U.S.? You think a few hundred (if that) people in the streets is meaningful? or is the overwhelming support of nearly EVERY government on the planet on Sept. 12 more meaningful. Did you see all the flash crawl of support from GOVERNMENTS on the screen. and here's a shocker. Since 9/12, those few hundred in the video have turned into a few hundred thousand. Wow! ![]()
