Not Enough Parking for Private Jets Going to UN Climate Conference

http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2007/11/23/not-enough-parking-private-jets-going-un-climate-conference

Quote:
Tempo Interaktif reports that Angkasa Pura - the management of Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport are concerned that the large number of additional private charter flights expected in Bali during the UN Conference on Climate Change (UNFCCC) December 3-15, 2007, will exceed the carrying capacity of apron areas. To meet the added demand for aircraft storage officials are allocating "parking space" at other airports in Indonesia.

...and the wolves gather to discuss how to guard the chicken coop.

Don't worry. I'm sure an even more dire prediction will be attached to a call for the curtailing of even more U.S. economic activity.

Can't these dickheads fly somewhere else and take a train, their pissing away fuel flying around the world, shlt for that matter they could do this by teleconference. Send in their idea on a post-it note.

It's just not the same taking your girlfriend/personal assistant to a teleconference. You got the jet, you the man! These gatherings are really just big parties.

Good to see they are taking time away from their ski holidays to save the children.

Thats what keeps several of us employed. The pax arrive to the airport, drive their car straight out to the jet and within 5 minutes everything is loaded and we start engines to taxi out. Landing is the same and we have sent a message ahead to have the car ready and you are on your way in less than 5 minute after landing.

No nasty flight attendants, and you get to eat whatever you want, and drinks are on the house.

When Pelican gets to that stage, call SingPilot and both of us would be happy to fly you around the world.

PS (who is leaving Windsor Locks CT in 3 hours in a private jet for Berlin, then Dubai and Moscow by the weekend)
PSS You guys have no concept of the amount of money wasted by some of these people. Many of these people who say they are concerned about the environment and our world then ride with 1 or 2 people in a jet around the world. When you start looking at the costs it simply boggles the mind.

You forgot sitting on the runway, waiting for ATC to let you go!

Real dirt bags in the proper sense of the words then. I canīt say I have any moral issues driving my cat less 911 in that company.

Thats one of the nice thing about private jets. We land where you want to land, closer to where you need to go for work or play. Usually the smaller airports do not have the air traffic issues and we almost never sit in line and wait to take off.

Hell, I would be happy to just own a twin Cessna! Someday maybe

Around 200 knots with the safety of a twin with a GPS/weather combo unit would = total freedom to travel often for me.
