Think of how the folks in 2037 will laugh at the fashons (and cars) of today...not to mention what we consider as the latest in electronics...

<- Born in 1971. I actually have memories of people wearing that kind of stuff when I was a kid.

I suppose in retrospect I should be thankful that my elementary school required uniforms (conservative, vaguely military-ish types).

I can't say many of today's fashion trends are much better however. . .

I don't have to imagine. I recall my dad had one of these behemoths on his dashboard in 1977.

No wonder the first Escort was such a hot seller...

LOL, I still have one of the first generation Escorts around somewhere. Not the giant that the Fuzzbuster was, but it was still a pretty substantially sized device.

I agree, people will always look back 30 years and chuckle at bit at the fashions, but the '70s really were unique and extreme. (I wonder why that was?)

Don't forget that pinnacle of automotive audio technology - the 8-track player.

I still remember going on a road trip with my dad in his hulking 1977 Buick Regal (replete with 8-track player & vinyl roof) listening to "Kool and the Gang" on the 8-track one summer. Ahh, to be a kid in the 1970s.

Then the head gasket blew and we were stuck on the highway for hours. No joke. I think that car had about 40,000 miles on it and was only about 2-3 years old at the time. It already had started to rust too.

I had this outfit. Or one very close to it.

That explains the need for all the therapy.
