I Love Parks
Las Vegas is going to be the home of the largest shooting park in the USA. Over 4 square miles or 2900 acres devoted to nothing but pure atavistic pleasure. The cost is going to be $42,000,000.00. The money is coming from the sale of BLM land here in the LV Valley, and an act of Congress to provide the land for free. All of this will be less than 5 miles from my home.
This Shooting Park will include 1200 yard, 500 yard, 200 yard, 100 yard and Benchrest Rifle ranges. Indoor and Outdoor Pistol Ranges, Tactical Ranges, Sporting Clay, Trap & Skeet ranges, and Archery Ranges. Plus host various Hunter Safety and Training Facilities. It will have a Cafetria, a camp ground and an RV campground. It will even have Tourist Ranges.... The contracts to begin construction were given in October of 07 with an opening of the 1st phase in the Winter of 08. This project has been in the planning for over a decade.
