I'm just pandering to the voters here. As soon as I am in office, I will back away from extreme statements like the PPOT Cabinet comment. See- I am functioning like an experienced politician already!

you have a grand future in politics and/or lobbying! why you could even represent an abortion rights group and still be a pro-life candidate!

frogger 12-11-2007 09:23 AM

You missed the part about the young trophy wife.

I never did duck and cover for the A-bomb. We were always told to duck and cover as an earthquake drill. I don't know what good it would have done, my school was right on top of the San Andreas fault. Anyway, we were spared that whole A-bomb angst thing.

I like to think of myself as a trophy husband.

deciding on whether to build a bomb shelter in your back yard and then how would you protect it, and get to it in time were common thoughts back then.

So if your wife were asked what she won to deserve such a trophy, what would she say?

BAD LUCK

The Cold War was won by the Greatest Generation not the Boomers...Remember Regan and Bush were Presidents then. Also the hugh increase of entitilements came during LBJ admin which was another Greatest Gen blunder. The Greatest Gen also should have used condoms so that I don't have to listen to so much retarded BS.

The Boomers took the reigns of power in 1992. What have the Boomer brought to the show...SO far it is Bill Clinton and GW Bush... 2 failed Presidencys. Both given to excesses. On one hand a completely amoral, irresponsible kid of a President and on the other a hard headed, unimaginative incompetent.

frogger 12-11-2007 12:33 PM

Tab's, you forgot to mention who's funding these "Greatest Generation" projects.

BTW Everybody in the world is effected by the advent of Nuclear weapons, because nobody is safe. You all can be wiped from the face of the earth in an instant.

Well in 1965 when the Great Society was launched it was not the Boomers. The Greatest Gen didn't leave the workforce until the mid 80s. Then there are the inbetweeners those born in the 30s and early 40s...Tom Brokaw is an inbetweener, PWD is an inbetweener.

stevepaa 12-11-2007 12:42 PM

And it was the Greatest Gen that got us to the moon. All of us baby boomers have just sat in during the decline of the big space explorations. Plugging along designing weapons instead of starships.

Moneyguy1 12-11-2007 12:42 PM

I am an inbetweener.....

That explains a lot.....

frogger 12-11-2007 12:43 PM

I've been paying taxes since Nixon was first elected. Maybe not many $ to start with, but the taxes have been unrelenting ever since then.

That's the the most pitiful statement, yet...because it's true. :(

Moneyguy1 12-11-2007 12:47 PM

Strangely, there would be no space program if someone hadn't been plugging away designing weapons!!

Slightly off topic but for us boomers born before 1955 or so, Tom Brokaws special "1968" is a good reminder of the rather turbulent 60's.. Was on the History channel Sunday or Monday night? but runs again tomorrow night. For thus of us who were there 1968 was a wild ride and perhaps one of the pivotal years in US history.... the Tet offensive, MLK and RFK assasinated, major race riots in virtually every major city, LBJ declining to run again, the anti-war movement explodes, the civil rights movement turns violent, Tricky Dicks "secret plan" to end the war, Apollo capsule circles the moon, etc, etc.... At times it seemed like the country was falling apart.
