Just got power back

Pre-hurricane season warm up game....

Nasty storms all over Florida today, I lost power around 11, got bored and got out the generator around 5, and just now got power back on.

Made me realize I need to re-think my water collection or lack thereof to supply toilet flushing water.

2-3 weeks ago we had a really bad storm come through. Lightning struck a pole very close to our house and knocked out power for 6 hours. I had not sorted out my Generator for Hurricane season yet. Seems my 4 year old battery was dead. I yanked the battery out of my Mini.

We got hit by 2 waves yesterday, the first was pretty bad, the lights blinked. The second was about 4 hours behind. I had not installed the new battery yet. I scrambled and got it in just before the second wave hit.

Didn't lose power.

Next weekend I will finally do the oil change and tune up.

Regarding water, that is one nice thing about have a pool. That plus 5 gallon bucket, endless flushes.

I have a system rigged to run my well and back feed it to house in case municipal water goes out.

Garage
The storm came thru Jax around noon. I looked at the radar and the front stretched from The Keys to Jax. It crossed the entire state.

Glad it passed by yesterday. We are heading to St. Petersburg, leaving in an hour.
