NORAD Santa Sightings

Grab your child and click on this link.

http://www.noradsanta.org/en/home.htm

It's tracking Santa's whereabouts and has Santa sightings. Each sighting tells the child a littleeducational information about the country. He even went through Russia (it's cute how they explain Christmas is two weeks for them), Santa stoped at the International Space Station, and he visited the the troops in Iraq.

Look up the history on this annual event. You will find it interesting and uplifting.

I can't wait for the part where he crosses the U.S. ADIZ without authorization and gets shot down. Boy, the kiddies will sure remember that one, won't they.

I know. I'm twisted.

My daughter tracked Santa with NORAD last year. This year, it's even better since it links to GoogleEarth. She's been tracking him all day.

They have video sightings in some cities. The NORAD announcer in RIO said this: NORAD fighters will be taking off soon to escort Santa as he nears North America. Swear. So, apparently this won't be a problem LOL.

We let our controllers bring their kids for a visit on Christmas eve. We then will tag up an aircraft on the radar with the call sign "Santa 1" so they can see Santa flying across the sky....

Usually it is a big hit for the kids and a couple of years back we had the local TV news crew into track the progress Santa was making.

It makes for a fun night stuck at work..... Kids love it!

Cheers
