Once Upon A Time In The West ---- good, evil, acting, scenery, my wife thinks I'm nuts. Could be.

Lonesome Dove. Made for TV. A Shakespearean tragedy set in the old west. Robert Duvall says it's the best role he ever played.

Amazing cast; Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Danny Glover, Diane Lane, Robert Urich, Anjelica Huston.

If just one:

Berlin Alexanderplatz.

I saw it in its first theatrical release in college (all 15+ hours) over three nights, and have still never seen anything quite like it. Maybe Kane a distant second.

Fassbinder ruled.

And to echo Moses, Lonesome Dove is, (albeit in a close race with The Searchers) the best western ever made.
