Humans are unique because they're the only species to ever deliberately "reverse-evolve".

The mechanism of natural selection is based on the simple premise of "only the strong survive", yet we as a society reward choices and behaviors that wouldn't last five minutes in the wild with protection of our full spectrum of technological weaponry. The poorest and stupidest among us are the ones having all the babies. For every decent human that has a shot at contributing positively to our planet, we get 20 or 30 boorish, vapid dullards whose crowning achievement in life will be building a monster truck or chugging a six-pack of Coors in under 3 minutes or winning the hot-dog eating contest at the county fair. And probably a few hundred more that are born into squallor and crushing poverty somewhere in some corner of the world where they'll be lucky to still have all their teeth by the time they're 25 - if they make it that long (but not before cranking out 4 or 5 of their own).

Rednecks, zealots, gangbangas, white trash (and similar worthless types) breed at will and their spawn survive thanks to their ability to stand on the shoulders of giants, stealing their genius, innovation and technology and enabling it. If it weren't for the efforts and accomplishments of the "2%-ers" among us, they and their spawn would never make it. And perhaps they shouldn't. Ultimately, it would make us better, not weaker as a society and a species. Go take a drive through L.A. some afternoon and tell me we're not in a race for the bottom. . . It's sadly obvious.

We need more wolves, IMHO. It might do our species some good.

It's sad - but this is the only reason I watched the video

Been around the world and found
That only stupid people are breeding
The cretins cloning and feeding
And I don't even own a TV

-Harvey Danger

That line is the only thing I remember from that band's entire existence. No doubt there are exceptions on this forum. But on the whole, I think Harvey Danger nailed it. And yes, my parents qualify times ten.

Agreed. I followed up and read some of the media stuff from that area of Alaska and (thankfully) the response has NOT been to go on a wholesale slaughter of the local wolves. Instead, authorities are telling people to stay the f*ck away from their hunting grounds. Good call. Maybe I should move to Alaska.

Dirty bombs are a valid concern. Too bad that so few see that the population explosion is the result of perhaps the most lethal type of just such a bomb.

I think the world is ready for another pandemic.

MT930 12-26-2007 07:34 PM

In Montana we call wolves " The other white meat" The US government has spent one million dollars per wolf to reintroduce them into the Yellowstone ecosystem, this doesn't account for compensations to ranchers who have lost livestock to the million dollar wolves.

WTF? Rainbow pepper spray? they are transplants in Alaska for sure. That one is sorta cute!

We can only hope the Grizzly bears eat them like taco chips.
