Almost A Darwin Moment

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2007/12/22/alaska.wolf.attack.cnn?iref=videosearch

It is amazing how CNN portrays these people as victims. They decided to go jogging with their dogs in a wilderness area of Alaska where wolves were known to be attacking people and dogs. Then they act surprised and shocked when they got attacked by wolves themselves - thus allowing them to cry on CNN and get their 15 seconds of narcissism. Frankly, the only real victim in this story is the poor black dog that got mauled by the wolves because of his stupid owner. I hope these people don't breed.

In my backyard, its not all that clear that I'm at the top of the food chain. My dogs, certainly are not.

I guess we need to kill all the wolves. You know...for the children.

Wouldn't that cause additional global warming?

KTVA newscaster: "In the meantime, the only way to stop the wolf attacks is to stay away."

Bravo. and I thought common sense was dead in this country.

Yeap, kill all the preditors then p#*$ & moan because there are to many deer, turkeys, etc. etc.
Anyone remember the story of the Tiger shark that killed a woman on a surf board in Hawaii? I believe it also attacked another. So what did the arrogant humans do? They commensed on killing all the tiger sharks that were like over 10'. Well... The smaller sharks that the larger sharks ate , ate all the food fish. So now the fishermen are losing their liveyhood because there are no food fish left. Yeap we're the smartest species on the planet.

I spend alot of time in AK,, I can't imagine heading where they did without a 44 mag as a minimum.. too bad there were 7 wolves, could have been enough for a really nice coat!!

BTW, the wolves in that area are absolutely HAMMERING everything on two or four legs.. they have been losing dogs left and right around there, not to mention moose, caribou etc...

12 ga shotguns with rubber shot will train the wolves to hunt elsewhere.

its a SURE BET if drawn for unit 27(look on map-next to alpine, az.) that you are NOT going to get a deer! competition with 55 messikan grey wolves is intense. they have nailed the antelope and deer herds to the point of being gone. elk herd survives due to size of animal and they are working on that overtime.

if you have not dealt w/wolves or bears, its a safe assumption you havent a clue to their feeding habits during a drought. pretty much the "gloves are off " as far as putting "din din" on the table.

some of the brighter people of this state want to reintroduce grizzlies to this area. the last one taken was in 1920. hopefully this does not occur at least in my lifetime.

during our hunt from dusk to dawn all we heard was wolves howling. CONSTANT HOWLING. one morning buddy went out on hillside finger leading to drainage. sat under tree glassing for deer. noticed movement out of peripheral and about 40 yds away stood a wolf. talk about PUCKER! chambered round in .300 win mag and started looking around for his buddies thinking they were packing on him. had a few tense moments and decided to walk back to safety of camp.

soooo for those that experience wildlife from their breakfast table, bears and wolves are "CUTE". for those of us out in the wild...........well their a real eye opener and a tough adversary to deal with. just ask any of the ranchers from north of silver city new messiko into arizona north to alpine how much fun they are having with u.s fish/wildlife and the wolf reintroduction program.

bottomline here in arizona..........if yer smart you can avoid a bear or mtn lion attack. being smart, being heavily armed(pistol/rifle) does not guarantee your safety when it comes to wolves packing on you. wolves already know (1) of their pack is gonna die pressing the attack on a human. but in the end they will get you due to sheer numbers pressing the attack. and being a paperboy as a kid........well i know damn well what its like being bit by large dogs and being chased by them.

yes its nice to hear them. nice to see them..........but go hunt with them and live with them in their domain and tell me all about how "CUTE" they are.

when you read about a wolf attack/fatality here in the lower 48.........it will be either in the gila wilderness area or around alpine , az. and its only a matter of time.

I got the opportunity to be on the right side of the fence with a large grey wolf on the other.

He was standing up with his paws on the fence, eyeball to eyeball with me.

Yes, I have respect for them.

I wondered two things-

What's a hottie like that (brunette) doing in Alaska?

and

What is "rainbowing" pepper spray? Are unicorns involved?
