What's the best bluetooth for the money?

My Motorola H350 is on its last legs and never was that great when it was new. I am hard of hearing, so I need something that's clear and loud. What do you guys recommend? BTW, I couldn't care less about style or appearance. This is strictly for utility.

I have gone though a few, and hands down, my Plantronics Discovery 640E is the best that I have found.

Which phone do you use it with?

VaSteve 12-27-2007 06:20 PM

I had a Motorola and it was terrible. I got a $50 Nokia as a replacement at Best Buy. I'm now glad the other broke. Only issue is that it has a green blinking light. Not as cool as the blue blinking light. But I can change the face plates to match my mood.

Why don't these thinks have a small switch to shut them off instead of the all purpose button? Il like to keep it in my pocket.

Pricey, but damned fine. People can't tell I'm on a cell phone in the 911. Incoming voice quality is likewise loud and clear.

Samsung WEP420...cheap and good

Bang & Olufsen Earset 2 ...high end Bluetooth, best audio I've heard from a headset so far.

Bang & Olufsen E2 here. Absolutely the best (and most expensive) I have ever used. Works excellent and just the clearest I have ever used.

I use it with 3-4 phones and no issues with it at all.

I have a Motorola H700. Others here have complained about it here, but it has one feature I can live without. The flip out microphone turns the earpiece on and off. It will not accidentally activate in your pocket, when stored.

It is loud enough for me to use in the 914/6 with the top off on the highway. And the blond is LOUD.

Sony Ericsson K-320i cheap and works fine i use it on a Becker Indianapolis pro radio.

The B&O uses the same arrangement. Love it as it can sit in my pocket for hours and not run the battery down, then just flip the arm open, put it on my ear and rock.

H700 here as well...both me and the wife. Love em!

Plantronics 655 for me (after asking the same question about 6 months ago)

It's great - I can hear it with the top down on my cabriolet. Small - light - comes with an over the ear loop - will never buy another motorola piece o crap again.

Think I paid $40.00 on line.

The Bluetooth that comes in my 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan is the best. Clear, loud, easy to program for new phones, easy to program for a built-in phonebook and no headset or earphone required. Too bad it has to come with a car.

Got a Plantronics as a result of this thread. It finally died after almost two years. What's the latest best thing out there?

Have one, don't like it.

Had/have one. Loved it, the flip on/off is great. Mic broke. :(

The best money I spent was the $250 on the factory integrated kit for my GTI. I am looking to put in a kit in my Jetta now. For the car it is the way to go!

craigster59 04-23-2009 09:45 AM

One that will make it thru the wash..

Rick Lee 04-23-2009 09:53 AM

I use my bluetooth all the time, whether in the car or at home. I hate holding a cell phone to my ear. Now I'm using an earpiece until I get another bluetooth. I usually get such stuff on eBay, but will buy from whomever has the best deal.
